Tenerife Police appealing for volunteers to do "massive" search tomorrow.

Sounds like a final attempt and then they'll wind down the official searching if no sign of him is found over the weekend.

Volunteering till … oh about 5pm on Sunday would be my guess

More likely a response to them bringing more people over, I sense the relationship between the two parties isn’t great and is unlikely to get better. If one side is sensing financial pressure and needing to dip into the funds then the police can also suggest that helicopters and specialist teams aren’t exactly cheap either. The family would be best giving this money to the detective to see what he can unearth in my opinion and coming home but I can understand that must be a really hard decision for the parents.

The ones watching the Belgian registered boat online and genuinely believe he's going be dropped off soon are crazy. Like he's just been on some prolonged dolphin watching excursion. Why would they return with him for a 30k drop and risk their freedom
