To the song Iko Iko by the Dixie Cups

Guardiola told Mansour
Sit-tin' by the fire.

Guardiola told Mansour
'I'm gonna set the league on fire.'

Talkin' 'bout, Hey now! (Hey now)
Hey now! (Hey now) Doku, Doku, I say

Jerome's got the pace and skills,
To win the match today.
It's got legs, it's just the last two lines need polishing.

Is us signing someone with this skillset the club’s first look to the post-Pep era, where we will start to need other traits in players?
I mean he’s a Pep player, ball to feet winger, excellent on left and right side, two footed, ball progression top tier. There have only been 2 years where Pep hasn’t used pace on the flanks, the rest of the qualities are the same

I don't think so, Doku is similar to the Mane and Salah skillset, Peps always admired and spoke positively about Liverpools front three when they had that three. About their qualities but especially Their ability to take on defenders which made them so dangerous.

You saw in the community shield when Palmer took on the full back, pep started shouting and encouraging Cole to keep going.

With Doku he's finally got that type of player with a similar skillset to the old Liverpool front three, Liverpool even looked at Doku to replace Mane. Doku has skill, explosiveness and one the best take on records in Europe.

Pep speaks well of most opponents. For instance, he never bought Nathan Redmond.

No doubt Doku is able to learn Pepball, but he can also give the team different skills as and when Pep finally calls it a day. (Which I hope is in around 2040.)

It’s inevitable that City witll be thinking of the future with and without Pep. It’d be negligent not to.
(sticks fingers in ears) la la la la la

Yes you're right. We are forward planners so we must be ( hoping the other two stay oc). Always thought Louis Enrique would be ideal but DE Zerbi is looking good. Anyway, there's a thread on it.

Haaland fits in any system, both commercially and playing.

Wait, I was joking because I thought you were joking.

But yeah pretty much every player the club sign will be considered in a post Pep context anyway, so either way Doku wouldn't be the first.
