In the past Romano was pretty close to Chelsea so it`s believable. They also showed interest in Barcola (likely to move with Lyon out of the CL). I bet headlines like "Doku snubbed city for chelsea" are tempting for their ego & the fanbase would celebrate Boehly for the new dopamine rush.

I think a player with a profile like Doku is more needed than Paqueta. If we are selling Cancelo & doesn´trust Gomez/Bobb we would only have Foden as a fast RW/LW (Palmer isn´t). But it seems Pep (reluctant), the player & majority of the fans wants to see him playing more centrally. I know we won everything last year without a pacey winger but the squad situation has changed. Mahrez/Bernardo could deliever g/a/ be important because of their superior technical skills. But with Gundo gone/KDB injury concerns Bernardo would be more useful in the midfield. To have at least the option of a pacey winger would be very helpful & improve our tactical versatility.

He is/was more important than Paqueta, don't know why its taking so long.

Totally agree. Plus last season we had KDB to provide pace up the front and he had the full license to roam left and right. Thus Pep preferred control than the pace on the wing. This season KDB will be out for months and even when he is back we cannot ask him to do so much running. Bernado as a right midfieder will need pace outside and we all know Walker cannot run every game like a young lad again. So It is a must to have Doku or any pacey winger out wide on the right.

I reckon they go for Doku now that Olise's off the table. Just seems like part of their strategy is to sign up whoever your competitors are interested in so they don't strengthen.
