Too laid back to play right back imo. Think he's a decent CB and he'll definately get better but playing as a full back you need to get forward and track back regularly. Zabs does it brilliantly for 90 mins as does Micah, but Jerome seems, for lack of a better word, lazy at times.

I think he gets forward well,far better than the less athletic Zaba,who is an orthodox fullback.Against Aris he impressed in the role and,until the Komps injury,the team had excellent fluidity and balance,the changes coincided with the loss of tempo....

Saying that,i still much prefer him as a CB,my only real gripe with him is his apparent lack of aggression,maybe that will change.

End of the day ,wev`e got a German international who can play ;
left back,right back ,and center half.
times are good blues..

hardly relevant though, when he can only play CB any good.

Being a bit harsh I think, he's not a bad right back, he just doesn't have the attacking initiative which our system requires. I was rather excited about him there after his crossing during the world cup (3rd place play off in particular) and the Valencia friendly, but he hasn't really delivered in that respect.

At centre half though he looks very comfortable, like a younger Kompany.
