Jesus Navas

I could see Navas as a wingback in a 3-4-3. He can run, he can play possession football and he's Spanish. Why would Pep sell?

Not enough cutting edge going forward and not young enough to keep around and re train. Sell him whilst we can still get a decent fee imo.

Pep often kerpd lots of old players, they just never seen to be the key players. So Navas may well be kept. Amazingly useful player.

Because we have a pretty full squad. Players have to go for players to come in. Money as well - the need to keep within external and internal financial constraints and targets. Players like Bony, Sagna, Navas, Fernando, Kolorov, Yaya and maybe more aren't going to be first choice. If Pep is going to bring in four or more players then older players, with high salaries and declining market value will be the ones to go.

I suspect we might be a bit shocked with some outgoings.

I think we may be even more shocked at the lack of incomings. There's been the Busquets rumour, the Sane speculation, and even swapping Hart for Handanovic. None of these really have legs yet (it's only Feb admittedly), but especially in the case of Navas I see him being kept. Surely Sagna, Kolarov, Bony, Yaya are out.....they don't seem like his guys. But Navas, Clichy, Nasri.....three players whom we've never gotten the most from, may thrive.

I like him as a player and think he's underrated by many, but I think he'll leave this summer.

Has his homesickness caught up with him

His homesickness isn't an issue anymore. I don't think he really got the credit he deserves for overcoming his demons on that front to be honest. A lot of people scoffed about it, but it was a pretty debilitating condition for him. Even if he leaves this summer it probably represents a personal victory of sorts to him.

I like him , and think he has done a good job while he has been here

He made me frustrated million times but got me back recently when we were able to make any kind of pressure in attack only when he was in the team.

As a defender you don’t want to play against him, he alters the way the set up as they have to play deeper and with a left back sitting back all game. He might not have the best final ball in the world but he brings a whole lot to the table that many don’t appreciate.

Disagree. If you're a defender with pace i think they'd love playing against him. Never comes on the inside, never uses his left foot and never runs beyond the backline. If a defender can keep up with him in a straight race they've got him in their pocket all game.

May seem like i'm slating him there but i'm not deliberately having a go, i think he's been good for us this season he's just a limited footballer.

Navas isnt going this summer for many reasons but the biggest one is that he has the energy to play the kind of system Pep plays. Players like Yaya, Bony, Fernando, Kolarov andd Zaba all dont have the legs to do so, hence they will be on the market in the summer. Navas has the attributes to play, not as a starter under Pep but as a filler in both attacking formations and defensive. Pep likes Navas too. There is really do doubt that if Navas wants to leave then there is no real choice there but If to choose, Pep will keep navas ahead of MANY players in our current team.

If Sane comes in as rumoured being a target then Navas is out very likely I think

Nah we wont clear out everyone and Navas is still very useful even if we sign a Sane or someone at the wing really. There are others who priority is higher to sell. a whole lot really.

we cant have navas sane silva nasri de bruyne sterling in addition to any CMs we have, that is just too much. If Sane comes in someone will go out, doubt that is Silva, Nasri could be useful, definitely wont be KDB or Sterling. So either Navas or Nasri if Sane comes in, would make most sense

Whole lot to sell? We won't sell half the squad, 3-4 players at best.

Navas wont start much... and im not saying that either.

Bony Yaya, Fernando, Zaba, Kolarov and Caba are all on the "sell" list ahead of his arrival as all of them doesnt fit into the Pep system, and that plus demi who is leaving on free. Navas has actually attributes that suits us and Pep. He wont start much, but he will be here.
