Sounds like he went quite farHe had wandering hands. Scout leader, teacher and Christian. Child porn magnate. Whilst he never went too far, it was evident from meeting him that he was a dodgy bastard.

He was pretty true to form for a scout leader though! Not a true one apparently.
Sounds like he went quite far
Really? What Dya think they’ve got on him?A vile and thoroughly unpleasant man. A lot will come out about him when he finally coughs it, hopefully soon.
One of my best friends (we grew up together) is a journalist in a national Sunday newspaper and the stuff they've tried to put out about him is incredible, however "Sir" Jimmy has a lot of contacts who are loyal to him and some high-level lawyers.
It was a different generation back then. Think Paedo Kennedy on The Inbetweeners. Hand on your knee, hand on your arm, tucking you in.
We used to tell our parents about the school rumour but they’d quieten us down.
I think things have gone too far in that regard. Some terrible stuff went on, in plain sight, in the 70’s (for example) which needed tackling, and dealing with as best as possible, but as usual, we’ve gone and overcompensated as a society. There will have been some egregious miscarriages of justice in the last decade or so; although you’ve got to balance that out against the number of monsters in prison for very long sentences who otherwise would have escaped punishment free in-spite of horrific crimes against their own. That outcome for such a violation has to be in the interests of justice.Nowadays it’s gone the other way, an accusation that is hardly believable and a teacher is suspended.
A relative of mine was for apparently smacking a child who was naughty. Suspended for 3 weeks whilst they looked into it, turns out she wasn’t even there when it was supposed to have happened.
I know this is one case but knowing a few in the education sector, most think this is relatively normal these days.
I suppose it’s better than having abused kids but it’s often unfair and ruins the teacher’s confidence.

Such a difficult topic, of course, with no easy answers.
That has to be right. Protection of the child must be paramount, but it doesn’t need to be at the expense of fairness to someone accused of such a terrible thing. They deserve a degree of protection too, given the potential impact a false claim could have on someone’s life.Totally agree.
I did say to said relative that it’s better than them totally ignoring the accusation, to which she actually agreed.
