He thinks he's better than he is
Fans for big clubs think he's better than he is
The fact clubs haven't really taken a punt on him shows, while talented, he's no world class talent
If the Atletico style wasn't enough, his Chelsea form pretty much summed him up
Some nice moments but ultimately frustrating
And he'd cost a bomb (fee and wages)

Has he got a poor attitude? I’ve not read much about that, but may have missed it.Why do people keep wanting this guy? Desperately under-achieving and seems to have a poor attitude. Doesn’t fit our team culture at all
He obviously doesn’t get on with Simeone, but a lot of players wouldn’t get on with Simeone. He manages to out-**** Mourinho, somehow.

How many players haven't gotten on with Simeone to such a public extent? Or rather how many attacking players has Simeone not thought of being worth the time or effort? The list of attacking players who've flourished with Simeone, regardless of how he sets Atleti up or his antics, speaks for itself, from Costa to Suarez to even a current 31-year-old Griezmann. He is just an outlier.. whether it's attitude or mentality or whatever reason, we just can't keep blaming Simeone or Fernando Santos for what he currently is.
For the 'it's Atleti's style' brigade, he was given a lifeline in January but other than producing highlight reel tricks and flicks did nothing to affect or win games for Chelsea, who even, in the end, with their erratic spending, never bothered to sign him permanently.
It's 2023..more than 4 years since he left Benfica, and people are still desperately holding onto the idea of him, rather than who he actually is as a player. He's just an 'if' player currently,, 'If he plays in the no. 10 position', 'If he plays in a possession based team' and the ifs go on and on. Even the ifs and excuses for Pogba weren't this many. Unless you are Messi, no decent manager is providing you with ideal conditions,,and as with all world class players, the cream will always rise to the top..and he just hasn't stepped up in the last 4 years.
If he wasn't good looking and or having a resemblance to Kun, maybe the threshold for him would be much higher, but for now, his pretty privilege and occasional flicks are keeping the idea of him alive.

Do players not get on with Simeone though? Usually they appear to be prepared to run through brick walls for him.
