João Palhinha

If Palhinha was really a realistic target then last summer would have been an ideal opportunity to sign him. Fulham can again name their price in this transfer window.

Umm our first targets were Jude and Rice. So Palinha was never going to be our first choice.

However with our failures.. and Rodri running on fumes.. maybe the door is open.

Why would he come here to play second fiddle to Rodri? He’s so obviously a 6 so unless it’d be a case of pushing Rodri to an 8 (ala when Kovacic plays, not a bad thing) then I can’t see us trying to get him.

Fantastic player, though, and I assume Bayern will have him locked down to go back for him next Summer.

Phillips came here for that and has five medals in 18 months. More of a contribution perhaps from other examples. Ortega and Caballero played in finals at Wembley. Zinchenko played a CL final despite being the second choice left back. Akanji isn't in our strongest XI for me and yet he displaced Walker and played a decisive role in a CL final. He's already settled in the UK, I can definitely see how there'd be an attraction.

We weren’t looking for a 6 in the summer. Phillips going opens the door for another player.

Whether we pay Paulinha’s release clause, I’m not so sure, but we might bring someone in.

Perrone might be our back up 6 next season though.

He's played one full game for Las Palmas, reckon he'll get a 2nd season on loan as it stands. big 2nd half of hte season for him

Back up 6 to Rodri must be one of the hardest players to find.

A bit like back up to Kane at Spurs. You’re never likely to usurp them, just play the minutes when they need to have a break.

It’s a big ask for Perrone, but his development is coming on really well.

Yeah, lovely ball player see him more of a Gundo 8 than a 6 in his future. (due to height really) but tidy midfielder.

Bit like Busquets back up, must have been a few but I can’t remember any.
