Took his goal brilliantly. He seems to have the right attitude nowadays, he's got his head down and I think Mancini likes to see that. He's never going to be a world beater but if he added more aggression and confidence to his game he could be a very useful player to have.

If Mancini thinks he's good enough - that's all we need to consider when judging the lad.

Mancini sees more of him than we do and makes his team selection based on what he sees or is told about by coaching staff. There must be a reason that Jo is being picked over RSC and Adebayor. I think he's lost his confidence and needs a few more goals like that and we'll see a much better player emerge. You have to consider his input as a team player too - he's been involved in a few of our recent goals.

Aren't we all City fans on here? It's fine to discuss the rights and wrongs of picking some players on here. Once the player in question is on the pitch isn't it time to drop personal opinions on the guy and get behind them rather than making sarcastic cheers or shouting derogatory quips when he's playing.

i feel for him really, and his recent performances have been decent but he'll be off soon because where we're heading he isn't good enough i'm afraid, i hope he proves me wrong though i really do.....shame really because his professionalism whilst being fucked about sent out on loan here and there and left out of the team for long periods has been fantastic......if only tevez had jo's attitude eh.

I agree with you to a point and I'm not neccessarily arguing that we should keep Jo or not. However, whilst he may not be good enough for where we are going, imo we all need to learn from the last few months that we cannot expect to have the reserves full of top class players. It doesn't work, they won't put up with not playing and it just ends up being bad for morale. Jo may not be a world beater but as third or fourth choice striker, he's ok. I think that is the context we need to view him in.
