Joao Cancelo | Al Hilal Player

Imo we were very lucky last season with injuries. At the end of the season we had pretty much a fit squad which is very rare in top flight sport. It's unlikely we will be so lucky again.

This year we will have more games with the competitions we have qualified for with the CL win. Last season we also had Cancelo until he left for Bayern.

This season we have lost 2 top players who had good injury records, with Mahrez and Gundogan. Plus Walker and Cancelo look likely to leave, (there's uncertainty around Bernardo also).

Philips is looking increasingly unlikely to step up and produce football at the level we require.

I stand by my comment about our thin squad. The squad hasn't had as much rest and preseason prep that other rivals have had. We could easily get a couple of injuries with the extra games.

We need shrewd acquisitions to cover us for a harder season than normal, if we want to continue our incredible success at the highest levels.
Not sure it was luck. Rotation policy helped massively

The other unknown factor is motivation after last season. OK, Pep will be the ever demanding perfectionist but will the players have the same hunger? Not much left to go for once you've got the football 'Holy Grail '? As a veteran City fan i genuinely wouldn't be bothered if won nowt for a few years ( Except beating the Rags of course). It's been a long journey for me watching City, with lot's of lows. The highs are now great, but weirdly i wouldn't mind the odd low now and again for contrast! Maybe this is the season.
Sorry pal but that is nonsense
Have you learned nothing about these people in our club, on and off the field, over the last decade?
Yesterday is nowhere. All about tomorrow
If you think they’re going to be happy with a shit season, on the assumption that next year we’ll win it all again, you are veering into entitled and arrogant united, arsenal and cult territory
Get your head out of the ‘ickle ciddeh’ gutter. We’re going for it all again

Fuck that. Winning is fucking brilliant. Losing can kiss my ballbag

yep we have the annual loss at Anfield to bring us back to reality - all for winning everything. players are motivated to keep their spots in the team as they dont want to be sitting on the bench for the big games

Tbh as much as I would love us to win the league/ champs league again I’m of the same opinion.
I never thought I’d see us win anything prior to the take over, and feel very lucky to have witnessed our success in the last decade.
This isn’t me thinking our squad isn’t gonna be good enough or anything I just think my high blood pressure could do with a season of lol.
That said I don’t want to see the rags or dippers win fuckall ever even at the expense of the tarquins grabbing a league title.

Edit: nah fuck that common you blue bastards let’s fucking go!!

Part of the money? All of it doesn't even cover the Torres money. I wouldn't sell them shit. Swap deal for one of their players only.
