We do it, but if you get caught you just have to hold your hands up, your admiting it was stupid but seem to think your above the punishment.

I know this is pretty common knowledge but the way i was treated at the game last night has made me blow my my top big time and sent me right over the edge, now i know technically i was in the wrong but fook me what a bunch of twat's anyway it's like this i get to the ground about twenty minutes before kick off after a few sherberts and a sing song in mary d's and was in a great mood and looking forward to watching my first european game was chatting to a few mates when nature called so i went to the toilet whilst in there i decided to have a quick half a fag i'd done this a million times before and been o.k but not today three stewards walked in and straight away i held my hands up and said soz lads not had one for a bit wont happen again and made my way back to my mates soon as i was there the three stewards had grown to six and surrounded me and started leading me to the doors i said cmon for fucks sake was only half a cig heres my feckin fags have em and i'll pay a fine if you want but oh no this well what could only be described as a fat fuckin whale of a woman started smirkin and that set me off what the fuck you smirkin at i said obviously the only pleasure your gettin off anyone is throwin em out. I pleaded my case but these fuckers were not havin it what made it worse was in the past i had actually witnessed somebody being clocked smoking in the bogs and they were told put it out get out and if your caught again your gettin chucked out i told them this but the bug eyed plastic dibble weren't havin none of it i'm sick to the back teeth of these ***** having witnessed lads being thrown out for nothing more than standing up or singing too i quote "AGGRESIVLEY" or in truth being a football fan it's pathetic and driving me away from the club i love no doubt i'll get a ban, i'll never understand why just one of the spirals couldn't be a smoking area i respect none smokers right to a smoke free area but as the spirals are outside what would it hurt to have one for smokers it's fuckin stupid and i yearn to feel the warmth of mother maine road again, any way rant over thanks for reading just wanted to know if any fellow blues had any thought's or similar experiences cheers boys KEEP THE FAITH.

Firstly you admit you knew what you were doing and that you were in the wrong then abuse people for doing their jobs ! Strangely enough 3 stewards were sacked last night for not removing fans for drinking, so obviously they were in a no win situation. Either get sacked or let rule/law breakers get away with it.

Would you expect to remain in your local if you were caught smoking? probably not.

You say you respect non smokers so then why did you start smoking in a confined area?

Stewards are there to assist and have a set of ground regulations that they have to adhere too (posted on every other concrete post on the concourses) strangely enough we dont get too many complaints from fans who abide by the rules.

City stewards have just been judged the Best stewards in the Premiership, by the authorities,but that is probably of no interest to you.

You may find this hard to believe but stewards meet 2.5 hours before kick off and stay about 20mins after final whistle so are within the stadium for approximately 4.5 hours in total, and many of them are smokers yet manage to be able to hold on without breaking the law!

I will get off my soapbox now sorry but I am sick of people having a go, all stewards wear coats with an identification number on their coats, so if you have a genuine complaint report them to Peter Fletcher at MCFC, there are cameras everywhere in the stadium apart from the toilets so incidents are recorded.

there are signs inside the stadium warning that the penalty for getting caught smoking is ejection plus a possible ban. there's a big sign at the entrance of the bog i use.

i'll give you one thing, they should allow HALF TIME ONLY smoking at the entrance to the spirals.
me, i'd ban permantly any smoker breaking the law.

dont know what the guys problem is. if you smoke and get caught you get kicked out. its not a difficult concept/rule to grasp/understand. its a little thing CALLED THE LAW! take it like a man and stop moaning.

i bet he'l think twice about smoking in the ground again, and if he does smoke , hes even more of an idiot than i think he is.

Haha quality it's not just the getting thrown out it's the treatment if you read the post correctly and i can take it as you put it like a man and as for moaning it's a little thing called an opinion if they had been cool about it and talked to me with the respect i first spoke to them with i'd have left the ground myself no questions asked these stewards are known for the over the top approach it's common knowledge oh and thats a corker i smoke i'm an idiot i'm actually an intelligent individual who made a mistake never made one of those eh he of no flies on him

dont give me all that tripe that you didnt know you couldnt smoke because its a load of bollocks. have you lived under a fucking stone for the last 12 months or something? how many pubs have you walked in in the last 12 months and lit up in? none!

the stewards treated you like an idiot, because only an idiot would think that you could smoke in the first place. i smoked for 15 years and give up in january. not once did i smoked in the stadium concourse/toilets after they banned it. there are signs every where telling you not to smoke. thats why im telling you to stop moaning. dem the rules!
