r u joking? hart's distribution was unbelievable tonight. maybe I'm miss reading what youre trying to say, but no way is pants better with the distribution

You weren't watching closely enough because in the first half he kicked it in to touch 3 times and played 2 other balls that put us straight back into trouble. In fact their first goals came directly from his dead ball.

He played well 2nd half though

i'll buy that. still in no way believing this claim of pantillimon's distribution being "second to none." I've seen him shank a number since he took over from hart

He makes me nervous but so far he hasn't done too much wrong but I think Hart plays against Munich which will be a real test and then if he plays well he comes back in for Arsenal unless pants drops a bollock before then

Made up for Joe tonight,a great game for him personally and one that will do plenty to restore his confidence and his jersey.

He has certainly been practising his distribution both in terms of accuracy and speed - excellent tonight.
Some good saves, although I thought his distribution was for him poor. It' normally excellent. It was a bit hit and miss tonight. Set up a disallowed goal for Aguero with a great kick, but also a couple went into touch.

Should be an opportunity to bring him back in against Swansea

One thing I'd be wary of though is that he seems to be trying very hard to prove himself, which is good in a way, but it might affect his decision making

Can't bring him back because he was good as Panti has done nothing to be forced out!

Panti waited 2 years to win his place and he has done nothing to justify Joe winning his place back already.

Does anyone think that the people running the club believe that Costel could be a long term first choice goalkeeper for us?

The vibes from the club never seem to be more than lukewarm about him. Neither Pellegrini, or Mancini before him, have ever "bigged him up" when he's played. Pellegrini and Mancini have usually said, when asked, that he's done well. But they haven't t exactly pushed him forward. I don't remember either saying that he could be a top class goalkeeper. I just don't get the impression that the club see him as being anything more than a competent back up.

If that is true then the idea that he should keep his place unless or until he messes up doesn't really hold water. Because he's still going to be replaced at some stage.

By contrast Hart has shown, in 2011/12, that he is capable of being a top class goalkeeper. The issue really is whether he can get back to that level. And the club will only know that by playing him. The question then should be when is it the right time to bring Hart back, not whether Costel deserves to be dropped.

That's if the club actually view it that way but i doubt it has hes our current number 1

I've a feeling that ultimately he realises he's here as no.2

Didn't see many signs of improvement with his kicking out or speed of when to distribute the ball. He kicked three out over Kolarov's head in the first half and in the second half Navas was wide open twice crying out for a quick ball but he didn't get it out to him.

He did put two good balls long to Agüero and Negredo. So it's not like he didn't do any of that side of his game right, but not great.

He made a few nice saves, but that was always the best part of his game.

He still should be on the bench for the next three games, IMO. His next two games should be in Munich and Leicester. Costel has done nowt that should see him dropped back to the bench.

Distribution too slow and it's a fucking lottery wherever it lands at a blue shirt or sails out of play on the half way line. Communication is non existent. Shot stopping he did ok.
Still not anywhere near back to his best.

His distribution was awful tonight. One or two good saves, but Pantilimon deserves to keep his place on merit.
