Didn't see many signs of improvement with his kicking out or speed of when to distribute the ball. He kicked three out over Kolarov's head in the first half and in the second half Navas was wide open twice crying out for a quick ball but he didn't get it out to him.

He did put two good balls long to Agüero and Negredo. So it's not like he didn't do any of that side of his game right, but not great.

He made a few nice saves, but that was always the best part of his game.

He still should be on the bench for the next three games, IMO. His next two games should be in Munich and Leicester. Costel has done nowt that should see him dropped back to the bench.

You are spot on, feel much better with Pants, Joe invites pressure back on us with his distribution, we need a new No1 asap (my opinion)
I agree with all that too !

-- Thu Nov 28, 2013 7:19 am --

Joe hart is class, still young and still learning, he kicks the ball more accurately than any previous goalkeeper I've ever seen. Costel has done Nowt wrong so it's a tough decision but joe is our number one hands down, best in the prem
At the moment he's neither class, nor the best in the premier.I really don't know what people have seen in him which prompts them to say this !

What from yesterdays performance tells you he's not picked up his form again? From what I can tell people are back to bitching about his distribution, which was neither better nor worse than Pantilimon's who's somehow picked up a reputation as being Valdesesque on the ball.

Where the fuck did he learn to kick?

I was wondering the same thing. First time I've ever seen him start a counter, and he did it twice.
If he can put that in his locker on a regular basis then that is a huge stride forward for him.

He's always been reasonably capable of kicking accurately out of his hands, it's his woeful distribution with the ball at his feet that has been and continues to be the problem.

I can't remember many instances of Hart setting up two excellent chances in a match before. In fact I can't remember any but my memory may be failing me.

Phil Mcnulty critical of Hart? Not I his match report

And it was a good night for recalled goalkeeper Joe Hart, who was blameless for Plzen's goals and distinguished himself with a couple of fine saves when they did get through.

As for Joe Hart's distribution. Relatively poor from him. A few kicks went astray. He's normally very accurate with his kicks.

Maybe you notice how good is kicking is because you watch Pantillimon for a few games.

It also helps if a team is chasing the game, and we have Navas or Aguero playing on the last man's shoulder

Ahhh the old myth about Hart's kicking compared to Pantilimon's has struck again I see.

Joe Hart's kicking is on a different level altogether to Pantilimon's - who can barely reach the centre circle and constantly gives possession away.

Repeat a lie often enough until it becomes the truth - that's certainly happened on this topic.

If the City players read these opinions about their respective keeper's kicking abilities they'd be amazed by how anybody could think Pantilimon was superior in this area. It's a complete fallacy.

Seems like Joe had a little bit more confidence yesterday, and I don't think his distribution was bad at all.

What I like with Costel though is that he plays the ball short quite often, making us keep possession.

There are certain times where I feel that Hart overworks the situation, but hopefully he is getting back to his old self again. Still think Costel should play against Swansea, and I'm sure he will.

Some very good saves but a couple of poor bits first half.Again came out for a ball for no reason.Somehow the officials never noticed he grabbed the ball outside the box.A run of the mill shot that just about embarrassed him.
Still short of confidence for me,just glad it is not my problem for who to pick on Sunday.
