Joe Hart (continued)

Didn't see many signs of improvement with his kicking out or speed of when to distribute the ball. He kicked three out over Kolarov's head in the first half and in the second half Navas was wide open twice crying out for a quick ball but he didn't get it out to him.

He did put two good balls long to Agüero and Negredo. So it's not like he didn't do any of that side of his game right, but not great.

He made a few nice saves, but that was always the best part of his game.

He still should be on the bench for the next three games, IMO. His next two games should be in Munich and Leicester. Costel has done nowt that should see him dropped back to the bench.

You are spot on, feel much better with Pants, Joe invites pressure back on us with his distribution, we need a new No1 asap (my opinion)

Joe hart is class, still young and still learning, he kicks the ball more accurately than any previous goalkeeper I've ever seen. Costel has done Nowt wrong so it's a tough decision but joe is our number one hands down, best in the prem

Who are the other goalkeepers you've watched? If you think Hats kicking is accurate then you need to get up early in the morning and make an appointment with your nearest opticians. Apart from 2 great kicks that set us up on a counter (one to Aguero first half, one to Navas in the second) his kicking was abysmal - as it often is.
I agree that he is class, he's shown us on several occasions over the last 3 years how good he can be. Right now he's nowhere near that level, he's certainly not the best in the Prem.

Yes Joe is great at hitting that ball boy near the halfway line. I agree with the rest of what you say

in all fairness to him, he could have grabbed himself an assist today had the officials not deemed Aguero's goal as a foul!!

Yes you are right and I didn't see any Gould by Aguero. I think that call was a factor in us getting a soft penalty. I think Joe should do himself a favour and kick a few more down the middle

The one to Navas on the wing was pretty good, problem is he rushes them too often because 45,000 people urge him to get rid of the ball as soon as he gets it and when he does and looses it there's 45,000 groans.
My dad is one of them that moans about him taking too long to get rid of the ball but when he does and gives away possession he moans about him loosing it saying he should throw/pass it to one of the defenders but I don't blame Hart for not doing as they're not the most reliable bunch at times and passing it short to Lescott is pretty fucking useless as 99.9% of the time he passes it back to the keeper forcing him to lump it up field anyway!

My daughter commented the match against everton was the first game he had managed to find a blue shirt with most of his kicks !!

Does anyone think that the people running the club believe that Costel could be a long term first choice goalkeeper for us?

The vibes from the club never seem to be more than lukewarm about him. Neither Pellegrini, or Mancini before him, have ever "bigged him up" when he's played. Pellegrini and Mancini have usually said, when asked, that he's done well. But they haven't t exactly pushed him forward. I don't remember either saying that he could be a top class goalkeeper. I just don't get the impression that the club see him as being anything more than a competent back up......

I know what you mean about the managers' comments, neither have added ..."but that's what we come to expect from Costel, he is a top 'keeper!", after they've said that he's played well. So, you might be right, maybe deep down the top brass do realise that essentially he's not up to being our long term number 1, or maybe it's just a fact that Costel doesn't need pampering and having his ego massaged with sound bites like some of our players.

I honestly think that Pellegrini knew that Hart needed to be dropped. NOT RESTED & NOT GIVEN A CHANCE TO REFOCUS. Dropped.

And IMO they do trust Costel, whether it's long term or short term trust, who knows, I can't answer that one.
