Milner is 50% the player of Toure we all know this.
And Navas plays in a totally different position which ruins that argument.
Navas is down as a midfielder and therefore should be able to play midfield surely? Plus Milner might not always be as fast as YaYa but at least he gives 100% whereas YaYa needs a kick up the back side most matches and doesn't give 100%. BUT the thread is about Joe and whether he should have been dropped for poor play, my point was if he is dropped why isn't YaYa so this will be my last answer on YaYa's replacement in this thread. :-)
Clearly the goalkeeping position is such you cannot carry a "passenger" in poor form in it without dropping some serious points. CM is far more accommodating meaning playing below par is CM is far less of a risk so the whole idea of comparing it with any other position on the pitch is useless. Besides Yaya hasn't been in as bad a level of form as Joe. Pellegrini made the correct decision, actually he had to make a decision after the Bayern game and decided to give Joe another chance but it became clear this wasn't a problem that was going to work things out. Joe needed some time to himself with his coaches to sort out his keeping and get back to basics without the glare of the media on him twice a week. Dropping/Resting him was not only the best thing for our club but the best thing for Joe himself, IMO a few more things to work on but he already looked better for it, he will be back soon, a refreshed, refocused and a better goalkeeper and I'm happy the manager made it clear him leaving the club is NOT even being considered, he is our Number 1 now and for the future but he needed this break for himself and the Club.
