Joe Hart (continued)

Great shot stopper and making himself "big" against the attacker, but he just doesn't have a head on him.

1) Needs tying to the posts with elastic, so he can't come too far out.

He's made what? 2 or 3 mistakes where we have conceded from this in how long?

2) Needs to spend more time on kicking practice, because he is shit and everyone knows it.

3) For a 6'5" keeper, he does NOT command his 6 yard box on corners, let alone beyond that.

Second half of the season he did this excellent, and for how bad he apparently is at commanding his area - he has over 90% claim success rate. I'll point to a very commanding performance against Hull away where he took cross after cross off the forwards heads.

4) He is a good personality who is in danger of becoming a parody.

Wouldn't mind you explaining how this is happening, and how you know.

5) Needs to STFU giving interviews and buckle down.]

Some players have obligations to give interviews with, or by, the club. Also he is down to earth and very fair and critical of himself. He, to my knowledge, hasn't given it the 'big I am' in any interviews, they are fair.

6) Wouldn't surprise me AT ALL if Willy gets an extended run at some point, and Hart struggles to get back in. He is only one (more) stupid mistake in the Charity Shield away from it happening for the Newcastle game!

I've always been a fan, especially when he was a fantastic prospect, but I think other players have sussed him as a "bit of a lad" who is not living up to his full potential. I also think that is why Pelle decided to bring in someone he does trust....just in case.

I agree with Blueband Brother, some are willing it on Hart. It's that glaringly obvious that some are just here to accept that because Cabarello won best La Liga goalkeeper the other year, that he must be better or World Class.

Just a thought 2 or 3 years ago he was being talked about in the media is the same breath as Neuer with the press arguing the merits of both
They in my humble opinion are now miles apart
One has progressed the other regressed

I'd start with Willy. Hart is too erratic. His stupid sprinting off the line shtick is ridiculous. It nearly cost us the title last season and when he came back he still did it a few times but got lucky.

I'd rather a GK not rush out when he should than rush out when he shouldn't. At least you're still in your goal.

Hart is NO sweeper keeper. period. he's traditional shot stopper.

for a sweeper, he needs EXCEPTIONAL ability to read the game, good decision and great positioning.

Hart don't have those characteristics.

I utterly disagree with the message here and frankly really discouraged that people will site his interviews as one of the points against him, that is the epitome of irrational dislike for a player.People just don't like him, they don't know why, that just seems to be the case and as I have said multiple times, it is very strange indeed. Joe Hart has his flaws like every other player but he is a great keeper and we should all support him.

Like I said...I like him, think he is a great shot stopper, but has a few flaws in his game which he has not improved on much...especially the rush of blood to the head, where he thinks he has either more pace, or better position than he actually does.

Three BIG examples...

Sweden, playing for England
Italy, playing for England
Chelsea, playing for City

...and again on Saturday.

Again, I wouldn't swap him for many IN THE WORLD, but he needs to improve certain aspects of his game, or he will realize that in a team of world class international players, they will start to have a few doubts. Pelle already does, obviously!

Don't every one go off half-cocked because someone who has played football longer than Joe Hart has been alive make a few critical remarks. FFS, when did everyone become such a prima donna?!

Name me any other top keeper who does this? And, conceding a goal is not the issue, it is the reasons why he does it so often.

2) Needs to spend more time on kicking practice, because he is shit and everyone knows it.

So, you agree with this then???

3) For a 6'5" keeper, he does NOT command his 6 yard box on corners, let alone beyond that.

Second half? Excellent! And, how many fans are shit-scared of our defending at corners and set pieces? Great to hear he has a 90% "claim success rating!" Too bad he doesn't even TRY to "claim" half the balls he should! If he would concentrate on the flight of the ball instead of pushing the forward around, maybe he would have more "claim" ATTEMPTS?! Take another look at Cardiff away, for one!

4) He is a good personality who is in danger of becoming a parody.

Wouldn't mind you explaining how this is happening, and how you know.

It is clear he is a good personality, because I read and watch and learn. As for the parody part, it might be seeing pics of him out on the town, in Vegas, doing commercials, and generally having a lot to say for himself while he is having a season where his position is under pressure.

5) Needs to STFU giving interviews and buckle down.]

Some players have obligations to give interviews with, or by, the club. Also he is down to earth and very fair and critical of himself. He, to my knowledge, hasn't given it the 'big I am' in any interviews, they are fair.

He has ALOT to say for himself for a young player in a vulnerable position. I can't think of another keeper that I have seen interviewed as much, and his interviews have had him in hot water in the past. Have never said he has done a "big I am" interview, but he is not the most eloquent of speakers when he does speak and I think it is more important for him to do his talking in the pitch, especially considering he is not the Captain.

6) Wouldn't surprise me AT ALL if Willy gets an extended run at some point, and Hart struggles to get back in. He is only one (more) stupid mistake in the Charity Shield away from it happening for the Newcastle game!

You are free to have your feelings about Hart, and disagree with my own, but let's not project bullshit onto my post....because THAT really is "glaringly obvious!" I didn't day WC was better or world class, just that when GKs make changers, people sit up and take notice, especially when it is the same thing over and over. Pelle and the brain trust clearly want a strong alternative...just in case. I hope that helps Hart reassess some of his game.

Nah, don't play that trick of saying'' I like him but...so and so''. As I said, the fact that you pointed out he talks too much in his interviews says it all. So he should not give interviews or he should talk in a particular manner that you like or in a way that pleases the haters. No, they will look for other reasons to complain about Hart. He indeed has flaws in his game but as I said that is not particular to him as many other footballers and goal keepers including Neuer, which some celebrate as the best in the world also has flaws.

What is glaringly obvious to me is that he has been in goal over the past 4 years and our clean sheet and defensive record has been the best in the league on average over that period. He was also the No1 in all the important games we have played over that period including the FA cup semis and finals, our 20011/2012 championship run and also as recently as our final push in April and May this year with him making crucial , title deciding saves especially against Everton. You can highlight games where he made mistakes but I can also submit an overwhelming number of games and crucial situations where he has been solid and world class.

Costell Pantillimon opted to finally leave the club and Pellegrini has got a more than capable replacement that will keep Joe Hart on his toes and provide a competitive environment that is ultimately beneficial to the bottom line, which is achieving our objectives this season. But that does not necessarily mean that Pellegrini does not rate or trust Joe Hart or Hart is going to be replaced, it just means that we are well covered in the goal keeper position, a situation we should all be happy with. Joe Hart is the best keeper we have and we should all support him.

He has to improve his game in certain areas but everybody has to improve something about their game in the squad but the reality is that he is a great keeper and does not warrant all this constant skepticism, contempt and disrespect he gets in here.

I think the level of criticism is bordering on the ridiculous at the moment!

Joe will start the season in goal. Against Liverpool he made three worldy's - against olympiakos he made an error in judgement because his centre half was daydreaming and watching the ball instead of tracking his man.

If he makes mistakes as he did last season, he'll be out and willy will be in until he "drops the ball"

I don't know about you lot, but I always knew joe would get his gloves back last year - pants never really filled me with confidence, yet he never really put a foot wrong (weird but true). Maybe willy is a class above pants and won't give joe the gloves back and that fear factor is great for the squad.

My apologies for not playing by your rules. What the fuck was I thinking playing a "trick" on you?! Too bad you spotted it! I almost got away with it, didn't I?! Damn!

Any other Bluemoon Forum rules I need to know if the common usage of the word "but" is no longer allowed? How about "however?" Can I use that word?

You cannot play any trick on me mate and that is the point. Your views on Joe Hart is clear from the points you highlighted as his negatives, some of which are utterly ridiculous... and saying'' I am a big fan'' or ''I like him'' does not cover up what is glaringly obvious.
