I disagree. Hart showed against Arsenal that he can't be trusted to carry out the tactics Pep wants to use, and until Guardiola trusts him to do what he says, he can't possibly play. It goes back to the Henry anecdote where he ignored orders came off his wing, scored and then got pulled off immediately.

I really think it's as simple as that.

Summed up much better than me!

It's a farcical situation if Willy stays and Joe goes. You're assuming Joe isn't in the right place mentally but that's not what Pep said.Currently WC holds the number one spot, can't see the benefit in that at all unless it's with the purpose of giving Joe a shake. I think we all know though that Joe is going to be the one to leave however.

I don't assume anything. I suggested that 'maybe' Joe's head isn't right at the moment. Different thing altogether.

This isn't about Willy v Joe. It's Joe V the new guy. Willy is number two, and will remain so. He's playing right now because the manager doesn't rate or feels Joe is a bad apple, so he turns to his number 2. It's not that difficult and it's not that upsetting. Yes Joe probably will move and maybe, just maybe we'll be better off for it. I back the judgement of our manager over sentimental fans.

The simpletons remark was for those thinking Pep "needs to have a fucking word with himself" as they don't understand that his model of football does not work without keeping control of the ball. And how that method is designed to, first and foremost, stop the opposition scoring. Pep's teams are virtually always the team with least conceded.

Pep will not be having a word with himself over this. Playing the ball out is intrinsic to the game plan.

But yes, I maybe shouldn't have called anyone simpletons, it just frustrates me when people think it's simply a choice of which keeper is better at shot stopping. (And I've been Willy's biggest critic on here)

I think youre right SWP. It was clear from the arse game this was the case and i admit im only just getting my head around what Pep wants (reading bios, article and watch docs) and then seeing JH not try what willy was trying really stood out for me.

And yes anyone who thinks Pep needs to have a word with himself really needs to reevalute what they want for us and the future.

Dom's reminder for Terry Henrys quote about him getting hauled off is a good example of what Pep wants and needs. The rest is hearsay, rumour and bollox.

"I'm sure he's upset and pissed off". Your exact words.

Why does Willy have to be the no 2, I don't get that. Why can't we get rid of Willy, keep Joe and then the new guy and those two battle it out for no. 1. Initially this would be the new keeper but Joe should get the chance to develop the skills that Pep wants, presuming Joe is happy to stay and fight for his place.

Do you think Joe will settle for that as England's current No 1 ?

I don't.

But then so is keeping the ball out of our net, something Hart is far more capable of doing than Willie on the worst f*cking day he ever had, my point is this is the wrong way to go about things, if Pep thinks Hart is ignoring the way he wants him to play then sort it out in the dressing room or the managers office, not putting in a keeper who everyone knows is not a patch on the guy sat on the bench under the glare of the media an making him look a c*nt.

This will put Harts back up an lead to aggro when there are far more pressing problems, not least the simple fact we do not have a competent replacement (IMO) in Willie.

I get your logic but can't help but feel that Joe is on a hiding to nothing now. If he stays he will be castigated for every minor thing he gets wrong which will create a shit storm of epic proportions.

Imagine for example Joe had presented that opportunity for Sunderland to score with that misplaced pass on Saturday.

I'm almost certain neither Joe nor Bravo would be happy sharing game time. Bravo won't come unless he's assured of the #1 spot, otherwise he might as well stay at Barcelona.
