A case of a player who has got to big for his boots in my opinion. His behaviour just before the last England game in the tunnel was awful.

Yes we all love him for the success we have had recently. But we as fans knew Pep would want his keeper to play out from the back so surely Hart would have known this. With that in mind if I was Hart I'd have come back early to pre season held my hands up and said i need extra help with my passing and ball control and I'll put in all the hours I can to get better. Instead his first appearance for Pep and he hoofs it up the pitch time and time again.

A shame that he will go but we cannot hold on to someone who won't buy in to and adapt to Peps game plans.

How so? You think he found out he wasn't playing at the stadium?
Yes,apparently it was at training on Friday evening, which was at the ground, that he was told Willy would start. He walked off the field and smashed one of the screens apparently. There is a picture of the smashed screen. Believe it's fixed when viewing tunnel cam, but Joe is seen looking at the screens when going out to warm up.

I have a lot of sympathy about the coaching bit - what's the point in being a coach if you're just going to spend to upgrade rather than coach...

However, you could also say that a really great coach can make a good assessment of a player and figure if something can be done, or if there's simply too little hope (if any).
A great swimming trainer won't turn you or me into Michael Phelps. Maybe Pep feels he could improve Joe, but not enough to reach the levels he's looking for?

I understand this and as I said I'm 100% behind Pep but Joe Hart isn't just 'you and me' he's a professional player and a good one, 2x premier league, 2x league cup, 1x fa cup, 60 odd England caps, golden glove 4 times and a player we've seen strive with competition and/or being dropped. Im just disappointed we haven't seen Pep try and coach him as when it comes to the new generation of city legends he's certainly one with Kompany, Aguero, Zaba, Silva..

Not having that there is an English curse at City, but he has fallen foul to the 'English footballer disease'. Look at what's going on in Rio and how many of those medalists (and people doing PB's) get paid in a year what footballers get in a week? Many of them train for hours, most days of the week. Then you've got Murray, absolutely loaded, but driven to do better and better.
Then we have English footballers, happy to flounder about in a sea of mediocrity. Joe Hart, along with all of us, have known Guardiola was coming over 6 months ago. The fact he likes to build up from the back and not give cheap possession away cannot be a shock to anyone on here, but it seems to have caught Joe completely by surprise. Therein lies the problem with English footballers who are valued as much for being English as they are for their ability. He could have stayed behind 3-4 days a week and made his distribution better. He could have spent a few hours passing a football. Lee Trevino famously said; "the more I practice the luckier I get." He didn't say, the more shampoo I sell the better footballer I'll become!

What did he do in the tunnel before the england game?

Maybe Pep doesn't rate him that highly as a keeper so improving his distribution skills is not worth the effort.
