I like Willy Caballero a lot and at times he does play well as did Costel Pantillimon. Trouble is with "reserve keepers" is that you always feel on edge and although Joe is by no means perfect, I've always felt comfortable watching games with him between the sticks.

That's the difference.

Like I say, Joe is by no means perfect but we need to get a replacement if he no longer has a future at the club.

No doubt Mario was an idiot at times lol, but the words Hart used at that time were clearly aimed at Mancini - I'm fairly sure it was 'that's your fucking boy', and I don't see who else that could be aimed at? I found, and still find that hugely unprofessional - say what you want behind closed doors, but support your team mates in public, and keep your feelings to yourself. Always made me wonder about him...

All in the past now though, possibly like Joe himself ;-)

he wasn't wrong though was he, balotelli was mancinis boy. i dont think there is anything wrong with saying that.

No he wasn't wrong, I'll give you that 100% - we'll have to disagree that it was appropriate for him to air his grievance so publicly. Poor form IMO. Not that I'm saying this has any bearing on current events, I doubt Pep is even aware of it (unless he is avidly viewing Bluemoon these days, in which case I'd expect it to make him feel better about his call)

Joe's undoing is that he is slow in thought and is slow off the mark. Two big requirements in a sweeper keeper and both something you have or you don't. They cannot be learnt.

Absolutely and Cogently Expressed.

  • Without football nous and the technical footwork abilities which has to be mastered by any GK at this stage can City afford continuing carrying an overrated, over-hyped GK who was fully exposed at the recent Euros?
  • Do we have the luxury of letting Hart acquire learning on the spot when he has shown and has a proclivity to be Risk Aversed.
  • Has he shown leadership on the field when he let his teammate/s carry the burden of defending his GK turf (especially crosses and from corner kicks ) and letting them being scapegoated for any goals let in?
Can we let Pep and the Club be the Laughing Stock of the World?

I would be happy for Willy to start.
Him and Joe are about even stevens as regards traditional goalkeeping ability but Willy's superior distribution edges it for him.
It's not superior though, at a questionable push it would be like being the least fattest kid at fat camp.

It appears it's more Caballero's willingness to distribute the ball differently more so than his ability to do so. On Saturday he did nothing impressive in that regard and in pre season he stunk it up kicking wise.

Hart is the better overall 'keeper between the two; no debate at all, sorry. If they are the two options going into the season after the window closes, would everyone be OK with the lesser of the two playing week in and week out?

Because when Bony played ahead of Iheanacho it wasn't pretty on here.

yea because the last couple of years winning the league, cups with hart in net we've been a world laughing stock. hahahahaha what a load of shite

Gary Neville: "My advice to Joe Hart would be to stay exactly where he is." Gary Neville: "He could throw his toys out the pram but I would say for a year or two, he should stay." Neville: "I think Pep might be able to find a player who is better with his feet but for attitude, for working hard, Joe Hart should stay."

Well the opinion of a failed manager, professional bellend, filthy rag and destroyer of manchester city centres historical building lends nowt to the disscussion as he's a prick.

Back onto Joe if heis willing to change his game for Pep then let's hope he stays, if not then thank you for your service.

Agree totally with that - if Hart stays (assuming no one comes in) he plays most weeks for me. But he has to follow instruction, which he definitely didn't seem to do against Arsenal.
