Fully agree. I learnt not to when Kinkladze was sold, cried myself to sleep that night!
Lol, did myself mate, no internet back then to find solis in other heart broken blues though.
I remember feeling I was watching something special when he was on his jinky runs. He kept me going back, helped solidify the love I have for city today. The older blues I go with tell me it was the holy trinity that had them going back every week, choosing the blueside over the darkside. My 5 year old daughter thinks Aguero and Hart are the greatest, got two shirts with a name on each.
Whether we want to or not, it is the players we get attached to, it's not the ceo, it's not the press officer, or any number of the mountain of staff that keep the club as a bigger entity going, it's the players that draw us in, it's the players who have us busting blood vessels in frustration and screaming light crazed loons in delight, they're the draw, the entertainment, the ones we wear on our shirts and pray they try even half as hard as we would in their boots.
No one player is bigger than the club this is true, but without them players we can feel the love for, without them players giving you that feeling that brings you back, what is the club.

I myself am actually quite an emotional person, I, however try to channel my emotions into something more deserving than millionaire footballers who I know would not hesitate to leave if a better offer came along from another club. The best you could expect from any player would be that they use that offer to get a new, even more lucrative contract. I never slag players off but by the same token it never bothers me when they go. I would be quite happy to see Silva, Zab, Komps, Hart or any other player be sold, as long as their replacement was better than the player being replaced. Sorry for being so cold about it but I need my emotion and loyalty to be requited. With football players it never is.
Great post I feel exactly the same myself

I think you'll find yourself in the vast minority on that one.
