I hope this is true. If he really goes to Spain to learn how to come back and compete with Bravo then it's brave, mature, confident and implies that he does want to end his career as a City player.

That would be great!!

Having been a fervent defender of JH in the past (and to an extent I'll still argue half of what he's copped the blame for was at least very harsh) now he is as good as gone, it is telling that the clubs seemingly interested are not at elite (or even just below elite) level. I would have been sure Red Dippers would have come in for him given who's between their sticks.

Pretty sure they would have if they hadn't already signed a promising young keeper this window. Only today some interest from them was reported

As I am far too lazy to do my research and there are far more knowledgeable folk on this forum, how would Joe leaving affect us in terms of the HG rule? Promoting some of the youngsters to the squad probably has us covered I would imagine.

We already have 5 HG players in our squad who are not club-trained, which means that in order to register all of them, one would have to be listed into a foreigner spot, given that you only name 4 HG players maximum (+17 foreigners and +4 club trained players optionally).

So basically, replacing Hart with Bravo wouldn't effect our plannings towards the next season, unless we replace another of the HG-eligible players and buy a foreigner, but it's highly unlikely this season that either Clich, Delph, Sterling or Stones will leave. :)

Remember that City do pay Joe. Quite a lot. No footballer is driven by passion and loyalty alone. It's not like he can complain too much if Pep decides he should move on.

Watching Caballero last night tells me that Hart's exclusion isn't based on his footballing ability. It's a statement.

Pep has taken over a squad which has been known to down tools and even pressurise senior management into removing a coach. He had to assert his authority and seems to believe the best way to do that was to remove one of the "untouchables".

Over the past few years our key players have been our spine of Hart, Kompany, Yaya, Silva and Aguero. Dropping/selling Yaya wouldn't have worked as everyone knows he's on the wane and not really suited to Premier League football anymore, never mind Pep football. Similarly, Silva is getting on, isn't the fittest and so it wouldn't have been a huge statement if he'd have been cast out. Kompany's injury record has led many to question his long term future and so again, that wouldn't have had the desired effect.

That leaves us with Hart vs Aguero. From this point it's an easy choice really, the only way to make the desired statement was to oust Hart. I feel sorry for Joe as I like him, he's been brilliant for us and it looks like he's not even getting a chance. But ultimately it's not about the football and I begrudgingly agree it's a good tactic from Pep to gain control of the dressing room and will work out well in the long term.

I just pray we've sealed the Bravo deal as I don't fancy Caballero in goal all season.

Willy is too learning this new way and tbf, he isn't that bad. Yes, he is still making mistakes, but they should reduce with playing.

I'm sure though we are bringing in a new number 1 and Willy will remain back up

Exactly, and that being the case, it becomes easier to see that perhaps as fans, we have been too accepting of his issues. His distribution has been poor for as long as I can remember, and he is prone to conceding soft goals. He will always be fondly remembered though by the majority of supporters.

I suspect joe prefers a loan as next season there
may be jobs going Arsenal, Spurs or God forbid the rags .

Rather wait for a club challenging for cups
