I think it all came as a bit of a shock to Joe, he's being frozen out. Don't think he knew he would be in this position a few weeks ago.

Didn't John Stones say he spoke to Joe extensively before moving here, Joe begged him to come, that we need him here? If he was aware of his predicament he'd probably told him to stay at Everton as he'll probably be joining him there.

Shit move by City?

What is, trying to improve the team?

The "has Hart been treated badly?" debate is the kind of thing that seems to happen almost exclusively with goalkeepers when they are dropped. Mignolet was an example going back 12 months when his string of below par performances led to the intense speculation about his future at Liverpool. It's unlikely to have to anything like the same degree of publicity if that had been an outfield player at Anfield..

When outfield players are dropped for a lapse in form, it is quite rare for football pundits in the sports pages of the papers and on TV and radio to speculate/pontificate to do the same thing, bar the odd occasion when a very high profile player is deselected or benched, as they appear to do in the case of goalkeepers. It is taken as a given by the vast majority of fans that it is the prerogative of the coach/manager to make decisions about squad selection based on whether a player should start a match irrespective of his position or status, based on the quality of his performance(s).

Clearly Joe has been putting in some disappointing form of late for both club and country. A continuous lapse of form for any player, regardless of his position, might result in that player being benched or, worse still, being excluded from the squad. Surely he should not be any different to his colleagues.

From the standpoint of Guardiola, he will always view team selection and squad strengthening as key to winning matches and winning titles. When someone as apparently loyal and well liked as Joe has been responsible for mistakes that have led to poor results, it is sometimes difficult for some fans to reconcile the managers decision to "punish" the player for a loss of form. That said the best coaches in the world are generally ruthless and, as perfectionists, they strive to make small step improvements, based on what they have seen in both training and matchday performance(s).

I can understand Pep wanting a "sweeper keeper" but I'm sorry but I'm not buying into the idea that Joe can't improve on this.

You have to look at the overall picture and Joe Hart would walk into a lot of teams right now. Every keeper makes mistakes and people judging him on the Euros...well Sterling hasn't done bad has he?

There has to be other reasons of which we don't know as if Pep wanted to keep him he would do. Joe Hart on his day is one of the best one on one shot stoppers in the world - is goalkeeping all about kicking all of a sudden?

Pep doesn't like him it's obvious and I wouldnt be suprised if Gunn was picked or sub next week.

Surely it is irrelevant whether Joe can/ will improve, because Pep clearly doesn't rate him, and for that reason he is going to leave.

Employing one of the best managers in the game and then expecting him to leave problems he perceives unresolved, is clearly not going to happen.

New to the Forum,

Been a fan all my life obviously with my old man being one and although I haven't endured what a lot of people have who are a good few years my senior, at 24 one of my fondest memories growing up being our DIV 2 play-off win against Gillingham with Dickov and Weaver being our Hero's. As I've seen us progress one player I've always admired and held in high regard is Joe Hart. 10 Years of service we have seen him grow into one of the best goalkeepers in the World, and although his distribution and decision making can be sometimes called into question nobody can doubt his presence between the sticks, leadership qualities and shot stopping abilities. Yes he has made mistakes , as every goalkeeper and player has but I feel he has more than atoned for those errors with the many games he has saved our skin with his man of the match performances.

Yes it's a new era, with Pep and his style of play I like many am very excited for the seasons ahead. But I do feel maybe Pep should give Joe more time to bring him back down to earth and instead of dismissing his style of play and moving him on when in his prime. Spend the time coaching him, to buy into his style of play and bring the best out of him. I for one would be very sad to see Joe go..

Sterling has a bad game he gets subed - Joe has a bad game and it could really cost us.
Hart could walk into a number of teams - but a sign of what we are trying to achieve is that he can't walk into ours - which is the main thing.
It's not all about kicking - it's about being an all rounder.
To use a cricketing analogy, The Jack Russells of this world would probably no longer get a game for England.

Can't see a smile on Sagna's face either, does the same apply?

Besides, he knows better than anyone what's going on and he also knows they'll have a camera permanently focused on him. Can you imagine what it's like for him? I'm not sure I could handle the pressure.

Pressure is part and parcel of being a top class footballer. That's also one of the reasons they're paid obscene amounts of money.
