No, allowing him to be hung out to dry with two weeks of the window left. Don't buy this Pep wanted to assess everyone first bollocks, he would have known coming to us that Joe is not Andrea Pirlo with the ball at his feet.

He is not being hung out to dry any more than any other player who is dropped, or not deemed good enough anymore. It happens.
Nobody's moaning about Bony going are they?
Yes Joe's been good for us, so was Shaun Goater, Bellamy, Tevez, but in the end they all went.
Joe is well liked by many fans, and whilst some recognise some of his weaknesses, it's still probably a bit of a shock that he should be one of the first 'big names' to face the axe - but someone was always going to be the first big name to face the axe.
It could well be Kompany next, it could even be Silva - we just don't know.

When you are dropped, you are dropped. It's not being 'hung out to dry'. We as fans don't know the full facts, we don't know if there's been ongoing issues over a period of time - we just don't know, and even if there's been no issues and it's entirely down to Pep's assessment of him as a keeper - then c'est la vie.

Put it another way, if Barca said they'd do a deal with us for Messi that required Joe Hart in part exchange - I doubt many of us would be so reluctant to let him go.

As for Pep not assessing everyone - again, we don't know how long he's been keeping an eye on us and we don't know if other City management have had some input into the situation with Hart. Although Pep is the manager, decisions at the club involve more than just him.

I liked Joe, I thought he was a very decent keeper and did a great job for us. I liked Given too and thought the same of him. But we aren't going to rival Barca / Madrid / Bayern without more upgrades, and those upgrades are getting closer and closer to happening with some of our long held favourites. Joe's just the first.

The one thing I'm worried about is certain sections of our fanbase turning on Pep. I'll reiterate; Pep is the third consecutive manager we've had who has believed that Hart should be replaced. This isn't just about Hart's abilities as a keeper, it's also about his attitude. As much as Hart has done and achieved, let's not forget his role in Mancini's sacking, his strops under Pellegrini and how in the brief time he's played under Pep, he's completely ignored instruction. Hart has certain sections of the fanbase under his thumb and he knows it, hence his ego leading him to believe he can fuck about management.

This is the same Joe Hart who had a strop at being loaned to Birmingham but then after he enjoyed himself there wouldn't shut up about Birmingham in the months after he returned. The same Joe Hart who's best mates with half of the Utd squad - don't make comparisons with Buzz & Best, holidays with Rooney you can accept, sat with van Persie at X-Factor hours after van Persie has scored a last minute winner in a Derby is a piss take. The same Joe Hart who on both occasions of being dropped by Pellegrini had within 48 hours briefed the media of his desire to look elsewhere if he didn't get his way.

Forget the badge pulling and all the aggro, he's served us well but he's a prick and if De Gea had left the Scum last summer then Hart would've flown to that lot. He's tried to fuck about with the wrong manager and his luck has run out.

Thanks for the saves, thanks for the contributions but no individual is bigger or better than Manchester City, particularly not one who thinks he can manipulate the same club and it's fanbase to his wishes.

Didn't know any of this. Can you expand on "his role in Mancini's sacking" and "his strops under Pellegrini" please.

Don't think that will happen. We've been wanting a good manager for some time. That said he won't be afforded much time to build - which with our defence is a bit of a concern.

at last, thank fuck some one else is seeing him for what he is, a big time ego, who is only concerned about Joe Hart and what city can do for him, not what he can do for city, less time on hair adverts more time on training ground practicing passing and you might have kept your place.

the distinct lack of silence re all the big clubs, not putting bids in for him, should tell him all he needs to know

dont let the door hit you on the way out

Seems like you've had it in for hart for a while.

Guardiola explained his reasoning. You don't need to speculate

De Gea, Lloris, Cech, Courtois, Begovic all better imo.

I would put Hart on a similar level to Mignolet, good shot stopper but makes too many mistakes.
Yeah, perhaps so.

Hart's mistakes seem to come in streaks though - like he losses focus or something. Then he re-motivates himself and plays almost error free. I thought that the season he had for us last year was outstanding - a top-10 keeper in the world performance for me.

For all those expressing sympathy for Joe - which is totally understandable...

Do you think Joe felt much sympathy in the ill-fated 2013 FA Cup final when all of a sudden Pantilimon was no longer deemed good enough (despite having helped us get to the final)?
It was a cruel game them, and it's a cruel game now. One day you're 'in' - the next you are 'out'.

Do you think he felt much pain leaving Shrewsbury behind to come to us? He dropped them in a heartbeat (and understandably so).
