I first started watching City, taken by my dad and my older cousin, when I was a kid. I liked City because all the nicest people in my life were City supporters, I respected the Players; they were City players, legends who I couldn't, in my naive youthfulness, imagine playing for any other club. Over the years we have had some great players and some favourite players, who were possibly less-than-great but favourites non-the-less. I have always believed that there is a City type of fan and also a City type of player. Sometimes players encapsulate the spirit of our Club, ambassadors both on and off the pitch. We don't applaud cheats, divers, biters, philanderers, but like to think that our lads play with the right attitude and endeavour. This is important to us as fans because it defines our Club. No other player in the last decade has encapsulated the spirit of the Club better that Joe Hart who has, in that time, shown absolute professionalism in pursuit of his craft as well as an appreciation of the Club and it's fans. Another fan's favourite will come along, another Trautmann, Corrigan or Weaver, but to lose a player of Joe's character, spirit and immense ability will inevitably, for a time at least, leave me with a feeling that the Club has been weakened as a entity, the family has lost a member. Good luck Joe.

Great post, very well put!

At 29, he should be given a chance to improve. The door has been slammed shut before he has even been given a chance to point. For me, he is a better keeper than Cabellero. I'd have more faith in Joe Hart as the number 2 keeper. What happens if Bravo gets injured?
Let's put it a different way then.

How long have you as a fan known Pep was coming here?
Were you aware of how Pep likes his goalkeepers to play?

Do you think that the Players would have known all of the above long before any fan? If so then how come he still decides to boot every ball possible long?

Watching Joe in interview was quite emotional I think for him and us. He cares for the club and us, that's for sure.

Most care about Joe, he's been a great keeper and character in the dressing room. I for one will miss him.

If we all let our 'HAeRT' rule our head though, we'd(mostly) all be quite happy for Joe to carry on between the sticks for us till he retires.

Many would forgive him for the howlers he lets in, right? After all, it's Joe Hart we're talking, England's no/1. Many forgive him for not being world class, right? Pep Guardiaola wouldn't.

This has been a very emotive thread, and not many managers would of survived at the club selling Joe.
Pep is here and rightly or wrongly, he has made a tough decision on dropping Joe for Bravo. Time will tell whether this transpires to be the correct decision, it may not be as in last night's interview on BT he admitted he has made mistakes in management.

As I've previously said, I have a heavy 'HAeRT' on this but my head tells me it is the correct that Joe goes as I believe we need to become world class in every department in order to become one of elite(proven)European sides. It's what Pep wants, it's what Kaldoon Al Muberak wants, it's what Sheikh Mansour wants, it's what us blues want.

So long Joe. We wish you well

One wonders why you follow football, listen to music, watch TV....or interact with people at all, if all people are to you is what they earn.

Football teams print money. Should that money go to the people who make the club what it is and put bums in seats and success on the field? Or, should it just all flow back into the pockets of Sheikh Mansour, who these players have helped turn a few hundred million into two billion?

Only sad muppets with no life shake their fist at anyone who has made something of themselves. Some people actually work their way to the top in a very competitive field, as has Joe Hart. Does he get very well paid? Absolutely! Should he? Absolutely! Are some wages seemingly obscene? Absolutely! Does he earn it by being one of the best at what he does in a field that generates billions of pounds? Absolutely. Does ANY of that require him to be a class act during this upheaval? Absolutely NOT...but he has been.

Don't cry for Joe Hart, he will be fine. However, to try to distill him down to his paycheck is disrespectful in the extreme for a player that has represented our club as well as anyone over the years of service he has provided.
good post

One thing I can't get out of my head was "the circus" line Joe came out with, maybe that was his way of a complaint, but he must have a point somewhere here.

Us as fans, are stuck between a rock and a hard place here, unless your an outer,of which I know there are a few on here,Pep comes with new ideas, and it is working,4 out of 4,but you can't help feel this could have been dealt with better.

And before one of the "outers" starts blabbing on about money, blah blah fucking blah,I think you will find thy are all paid big wages,so that argument is nonsense.

The guy should have been put on the transfer list the minute Pep came in,but he wasn't,and I've also a feeling that Pep will wake up this morning, and may think to himself.........mmmmmmmmm we may be making a mistake here, surely some emotion must have passed through him.

I really hope there is a change of events over these next few days, and he stays, but looking at reactions and chat after last night,it looks like that will not happen
I think the circus referred to the media circus.

'In Pep we trust' = a blind faith in a new manager taking his first steps in a new league and one we now very little about other than what he achieved elsewhere. As I have said before there is a lot of the United-style 'Emperor's New Clothes' story in the way fans post on here.

I sincerely hope that this 'trust' is not misplaced but trust needs to be earned and I saw nothing last night or against Sunderland other than a Pellegrini type performance only with more running about and players popping up in strange places.

I will be delighted to be proved wrong each May but the way Hart is being treated doesn't seem to show the man-management abilities for which he is supposed to famous, more of flexing of muscles.

I wonder how much the ghost of Mancini and his departure is behind this?

What do you mean by still decides? There was only one last night as far as I can recall and just 4 from 15 passes against Arsenal went long.

My stream crashed last night just before the final whistle, so didn't see the interview until this morning (was quite surprised to see he even came out to give an interview at all). No snide digs, no criticism of the manager, and clearly showing the feelings he has for City. I, for one, will be sad to see him go.
