You've not watched him as closely as you should then. Watch these highlights of him. Time and time again he gets the ball and dwells on it too long as England defenders who were once in space get closed down. He also picks the poor option when passing which then puts his defence under pressure - he does this by either not putting enough pace on the ball or choosing to pass to the man with no subsequent option. You can blame the movement of the England midfield for this to some extent, but you can see quite clearly from this video how many times Hart keeps the ball for too long whilst Cahill in particular is sprinting wide to pick the ball up to feet (and he is in enough space to turn and play it out). England tactically had been instructed to do that and pass it out from the back - that was clear. Especially with Stones on the pitch who is excellent on the ball and at passing. Cahill is good enough as well to pass it forwards so I disagree with you saying Rose is the only one good enough in possession, in fact he's probably the worst of the back 4 England picked.

If you still sympathise with Hart and blame others, watch Valdes or Neuer and see how good they are with the ball, and how often they pass to a player under far more pressure than the England defence were on Sunday. They play accurate and well weighted passes and then offer themselves for the return ball if required. Hart isn't comfortable doing that and it shows. Some people might not like to hear it, but he's in trouble now Pep's come to the club unless we see an improvement with his footballing skills.

To wit blaming our top class defenders for Joe's shortcomings has been the order of the day.

As I indicated before Hart lacks the technical skills ( a repertoire of football kicks etc) and nous that is required of a professional footballer to complete being a Pep GK.

What actual pleasure do you get out of supporting City, it only seems your biggest concern is the great big stonking hard on you have for Hart.

As indicated to you by several people, getting rid of Hart for small increase in kicking skills but then losing out on the home grown factor becomes so counter productive that it is actually pointless replacing him.

Besides all of that he is is one of the best keepers in the world whether you believe it or not.

They wouldn't be closed down to the extent they couldn't play another pass and you're dismissing this English defence far too much. They might be shite at defending but they're not awful on the ball, certainly not bad enough to struggle playing a pass 10-15 yards. You need to take your Hart tinted specs off pal - that video quite clearly shows Hart lingering on the ball and lacking composure to play the ball quickly to feet. Cahill time and time again is in acres of space but Hart delays and delays and then the option is gone. He also delays for another pass to Walker before finally giving him the ball when the player is right on him. Have you ever played 5 aside football? The key is to play the ball with enough power that it arrives quickly to the man you're giving it to. Hart doesn't have enough composure at the moment, he receives the ball and despite numerous options he delays the pass and then doesn't pass it with enough weight or sense to allow his team mate to find an option themselves. Just take some time to watch the keepers Pep has worked with. I rate Hart highly as a goalkeeper and personally his ability to prevent a goal is the most important thing, but Pep will want so much more and if he watched that game against Turkey I can assure you he would expect Joe to do ten times better.

Hart will also need to get working on his throwing arm, Neuer launches it miles when he collects the ball. I think we'll see Joe have to change a lot of his game next season - catching rather than punching the ball so he can collect it and launch it forward to our wingers to start an attack.
As I said comparing Oranges with Apples again. Let's see how Joe improves under Pep shall we. If he delivers the same
Improvement as Neur did then he will become a superb all round keeper rather than just a great stopper.

Only need 4 players. If Stones comes the other way we have our four.

Wrong - there is no minimum we could have none if we wanted! The reason home grown matters is we only have 17 foreign spots and that is our major restriction. Selling Hart would mean either ewe need an English keeper or one less outfield transfer!

I think the core reason why Joe is considered worse at distribution is the following:

He's clearly asked under Pelle to distribute the ball completely differently, and hoof it longer much more. Not saying he is as technically able as Neuer & ter-Stegen, but it's hardly been a fair comparison this season.
It's not but it won't stop the haters hating will it?

I really don't know why you even bother supporting City. Blaming Joe for the previous manager's tactics and the often incompetent defending of expensive defenders is simply beyond me. The hatred mist run deep.

[QUOTE="paull1, . Joe is top class I'm sure his distribution will Improve next year![/QUOTE]

Based on what?
Blind optimism by any chance?

I'd imagine Pep will have a specific GK coach tasked with turning weaknesses to strengths. Every keeper he has ever managed has improved.

It's not comparing Oranges with Apples - it's a clear fact that Joe's distribution is poor and you cannot simply blame the defenders in front of him for not moving as the reason why it's the case. The video I posted cannot be argued with. There were clear opportunities to distribute the ball quickly to an England shirt and he failed to do so.

Like I said I don't want Joe to fail and he'll get a chance to improve under Pep but Neuer's distribution stats were around the late 60% before Pep arrived and have since been closer to the 80% mark. His throwing etc is so quick and accurate and Joe has a lot of work to do to try and get up to that level with his game. We're talking about a keeper that's closer to the 50% mark so any improvement might get him to 60/70% but I'm not sure even that will be good enough for Pep.

Anyway it's clear you're blind to Hart's obvious weaknesses and will blame all else but facts are facts.
