I'm sorry but the 4th highest fee paid for a keeper is hardly a steal is it ?

The context of your post was saying we would have been shafted if we had announced Hart was unwanted earlier, I hardly think the fee for the above keeper would have been any different in that scenario.

As for the age which I am guessing you mean from the width analogy, well it does kind of matter, the aches, pains and injuries are never far away the older you get, I know all about that unfortunately.

So 17m for a 33yo is a risk, all transfers are of course, as we are experiencing with Sane.
What about sane? He hasnt even played yet ffs

Ah but he is a 'tough new boss' apparently a virtue for some.
Since you lifted that from my earlier post (without quoting it), I'll respond to the accusation, yes we did certainly need a tougher new boss, the last 2 years have, in hindsight, been far too weak, as was seen by our pitiful end to last season. However, don't go equating what I said to having any support for the odious prick at old trafford, because I would never have been in favour of him being in charge, in fact I'd have sooner had Pearce back than that.

Now back to the subject of Hart, he hasn't been "shafted" or indeed anything similar, a simple decision has been made as to whether he fits the next stage of the clubs development, and its been decided he doesn't, its harsh on Joe, but business and football decisions often are, it sounds from what Ric has previously posted, that he's been aware of it for longer than we have, and unlike the majority of people in employment who get cast aside, Joe will still have decent job, and earn a shit load of money where ever he ends up, good luck to him, and a big thanks for being part of an illustrious City period of history.

Well said. I would add, the twat at the swamp's perceived toughness manifests itself as plain old bullying to underline the fact he's calling the shots. Pep's toughness has been delivered in a fair and honest manner and it is an essential part of the team's evolution.

Erm, quite.

In fact the whole point of the post mentioning how we don't know the risk of transfers and new players picking up an injury, you know because he got injured before playing a game, fuck me, at least read the fucking post before coming back with your ffs.

Also nobody slagged Sane off, just to make it absolutely clear for you.

That's the same ill thought out argument that keeps being repeated in this thread.

As for why didn't Barca try and get him, any idea of the way Barca play at all? Or why we wanted Bravo? Hint... playing style and all that.

As for other clubs, it's late in the window, only big clubs seem to spend big on keepers and most of them aren't looking to replace what they have(it's not a position you spend big on if you don't have to either), his wages, his bad press(over the top after the Euros for 2 mistakes)... there could be a whole host of reasons I've not mentioned too making the move more difficult. Yet some seem to think there can only be one reason and probably insist it isn't personal bias too.

This thread is so circular same lame attempts to validate long standing personal criticisms of Hart. "See see I told you, this can only mean Joe can't touch his toes like I've been saying all a long."

Ah well when he does switch clubs and we look back on this thread it will seem funny I reckon.

Why is it Ill thought out. It's the market. Next tier down in the premier league are not coming in for him. Apparently joe has said he will take a pay cut and we will subsidise wages as well and .........wait here they come..... Wait......

It is these kind of comments that are driving the argument on and on, see you have the actual fans that appreciate what having a player spend 10 years at a club and what that means and then we have the likes of you, who for some odd reason just want to belittle a player that has given the best part of his life to play for the club we love, what is actually wrong with you people ?

I think we can handle 4.3m a year over his contract without even thinking about calling anything near a risk.
