Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

Barca didn't want Bravo to leave and whilst looking for a replacement, they went nowhere near Hart.

In fact, none of the top sides seem to be interested in Joe which kind of speaks volumes.

For the record, I still think Hart is a fantastic keeper and one of the best in the PL but if he was as good as I rate him then surely many clubs would be after him.

There must be a reason why he's struggling to get a move.
They have Ter Stegen who was unhappy about the limited playing time he was getting last season anyway so as much as they didn't want him to go, it's solved a problem for them.

As for Hart, all the decent sides in the Premier League have keepers and the sides in the bracket below probably don't fancy taking on his wages. A loan deal is fairly pointless if there isn't a chance of a permanent deal at the end. I'd say it has much less to do with his perceived ability. It's just a tricky situation. I totally understand why people are gutted. He's been such a big part of us for a long time and it's a little bit different from when other long standing heroes have left as he hasn't really been given any game time to actually present his case for the number 1 spot. It's ok for people to be gutted about it whilst still being excited about the future.

That's the same ill thought out argument that keeps being repeated in this thread.

As for why didn't Barca try and get him, any idea of the way Barca play at all? Or why we wanted Bravo? Hint... playing style and all that.

As for other clubs, it's late in the window, only big clubs seem to spend big on keepers and most of them aren't looking to replace what they have(it's not a position you spend big on if you don't have to either), his wages, his bad press(over the top after the Euros for 2 mistakes)... there could be a whole host of reasons I've not mentioned too making the move more difficult. Yet some seem to think there can only be one reason and probably insist it isn't personal bias too.

This thread is so circular same lame attempts to validate long standing personal criticisms of Hart. "See see I told you, this can only mean Joe can't touch his toes like I've been saying all a long."

Ah well when he does switch clubs and we look back on this thread it will seem funny I reckon.

I trust the judgement of the manager in this matter wholeheartedly.

For those saying we should have given Joe more time to learn new skills and change his game (after being at the club for 10 years ffs), how would they have reacted if pellers had been told "have a new 3 year contract and learn new skills"?

Hart leaving City is more beneficial for him than it is for us.

He knows the score and I think the reason the club are openly trying to get rid of him is so that Hart can get regular first team football.

He isn't going to get that here and everyone knows it.

He's too good to be our number 2 and not good enough to be Pep's number 1.

If Hart doesn't find a new club then I'd expect him to easily displace Willy as the number 2. It's just easier to trust Willy at the moment as Joe is on the market.

A number 2 paid more than 100 000 per week if the figures are right?! i don't think it will happen

It is if you value the quality and not the width.

I'm sorry but the 4th highest fee paid for a keeper is hardly a steal is it ?

The context of your post was saying we would have been shafted if we had announced Hart was unwanted earlier, I hardly think the fee for the above keeper would have been any different in that scenario.

As for the age which I am guessing you mean from the width analogy, well it does kind of matter, the aches, pains and injuries are never far away the older you get, I know all about that unfortunately.

So 17m for a 33yo is a risk, all transfers are of course, as we are experiencing with Sane.

That fee is like 5m with the money in the premier now. So you really cant compare.
