My only issue is that if Willy is ahead of Joe because of his distribution then it make no sense as his passing has been dreadful so far.
Both are shite at passing.

The reason Caballero is playing is because he is staying at the club.

The reason Caballero is staying is because he is probably willing to be No.2 whereas Hart is not.

I can't understand how people still haven't grasped this yet.

Thanks - sounds like a pretty idiotic thing to do.
For what it's worth I'm a Joe Hart fan and the theory that makes most sense to me is that he has been judged as falling short in the attitude, not ability, stakes.

Let's just hope it's all concluded very rapidly from here.

Pep was in the stands when Hart had that astonishing game at Barca in 2015. So he knows how good Hart can be. But he was also on the sidelines when Hart had a shocker against Bayern when we lost 1-3. I think Pep wants a GK to be consistent, make the saves he's meant to. I don't think he's that bothered about the keeper being able to make a string of superlative saves to keep us in the game, because I don't believe he expects it will be necessary too often in future to do that.

Pep's made references in a couple of press conferences to having had a chat with Joe when they were in China, explaining what he expected from him, how he could get better. At the end of those comments there should have been a final sentence indicating that they had reached an understanding. There wasn't.

This is my feeling too. I've not seen anything so far to suggest that Willy has better passing skills than Joe, in fact in my view, he turned the ball over (by putting it out of play) more than Joe does. I'll be very disappointed to see Joe go, not only for what he has done for us, and for being the second "big Joe" in goal in my City-supporting life, and for being proud to genuinely have England's number one in goal for us, but also because it suggests to me that he is not up for the fight to adapt to Pep's system to win his place back

We've not seen much evidence at City. But when he was at Malaga he had a reputation for being very good with the ball at his feet, it was supposed to be one of the strongest parts of his game. And Pep will have seen him play many more times for Malaga than City. Perhaps Pep believes he has the skills but they've become rusty, whereas Joe just doesn't have them and isn't prepared to acquire them.

Once we sign Bravo, Willy will revert back to No 2. But he will have had a few games under his belt, more to come in the C1 cup, which will do him no harm. The defenders and Fernandhino will also have had a few games playing Pep's system with a GK who is at least trying to play the ball out from the back. The learning process will be that bit further forward.
