Joe Hart Speaking To MCFC

I must be missing something.

1. The players he has played with and against think he was the best goalkeeper in the all-around best league on earth this season.
2. He is a semi-homegrown player and young.
3. He comes out to claim crosses.
4. He conceded about 2 more goals than Given in a poorer side than ours.

Is there any reason he shouldn't be #1 for us next season?

your spot on there with most of your points except him and Given share one floor.

Neither come for crosses, Heart refrence the england match when Mexico were very close to pulling one back at the far post.

They both make defenders defend the 6 yard line when a truly class keeper would dominate his box allowing them to push to the 22 yard line relieving some of the pressure.

The French keeper is the one to go for. Future best keeper in the world.

Seems quite calm considering someone was pointing a gun at him during the interview

On a serious note, he just wants to play every week, so I guess he's just worried about being number 2

No!

It's clear from the video that he doesn't seem thrilled and I'd rather a one armed Given than someone who isn't fully commited.

And another thing people overestimate his talent and skills because he's MCFC born and bred. It's blinding a few people, he's not as good as some people think he is. And when he comes back, we'll be stuck with the same problems he's always had.

He needs to earn the jersey. Given will fight for it, he fought tooth and nail with Harper in Newcastle for 12 years, he wont be afraid of putting in the work to get it back when he's back from injury.

Hart, well, and excuse the pun, does he have the heart? Will he fight?
Because for me he comes across as a bit of a brat whenever he's been asked about coming back. Because all we've heard is how he wants to stay, and he wasn't exactly bursting with excitment when asked there, he avoided the question totally.

From what I've heard Hughes told him that there would be a fair fight for the No1 spot before Given arrived and then went back on his word and told Hart that he wouldn't get any playing time unless Given was injured. Thus Hart feels that the club lied to him.

Hardly any keepers come out confidently for crosses in the modern game.
The difference between Hart and Given though is Hart is young, will learn and improve, where as Given has pretty much peaked and wont improve.

One more thing that IMO Hart has over Given.. Distribution

In that case he needs to realise Hughes is no longer the manager and RM is, so it is going to be a fresh start. If he can perform during pre-season then there is no reason he shouldn't be the no. 1.
