Joe Hart

I praised Joe last game. Tonight for the first goal he should of saved. If you havnt got a player on the near post and they score on the near post then its Joes fault. Even the second goal the more I see it the more you feel he could of done a hell of a lot better than he done. He made some smart saves during the game but no matter what that first goal for Napoli he should of saved. These mistakes might end up costing us a place in the knockouts.

I can see where ur coming from about there being somebody at fault with a near post corner goal, but surely not Joe, in corner practice at carrington they must have a strategy they work on? Fair enough free kicks and to set up the wall, his responsabilty but with corners especialy with the team that was sent out(no substitutions at that time) our players knew their responsibilities?

I noticed when we are defending corners we dont have anyone on the posts? Would have saved us a goal tonight.

im going to complain about joe hart so i expect a slagging off but....

he has to parry out into the box
he does this loads of times and really fucks me off
ok his 1st thought is to stop th shot but a few times this season he has puched it into the way of an on coming striker when it could have ben maybe smothered or pushed around the post or punched further out

To be fair he didn't do this today. There was one cross he parried, and we were lucky Lavezzi lost his footing, but he could hardly have tipped that round the post. It's a fair observation, but not in relation to tonight's game.

so he did actually do this today then?

Not really, because the cross he parried was drilled across the box at pace. He couldn't knock it out of play or hold it (as he was stretching). What exactly do you think he should've done with the cross in question?

well in theory he should have caught it , booted up field to dzeko and he should have volleyed it in the top corner.

-- Wed Nov 23, 2011 12:48 am --

but in reality it could easily have been punched further out of the box or even pushed further wide.(im saying this as a keeper) but in reality it is obviously not that easy but this is happening far to often for my liking.

I agree that his parrying of shots is a cause for concern, it's happened a few too many times now for my liking. But I don't think he was guilty of it tonight (or indeed the last couple of games), and hopefully that's a sign he's addressing the problem.

i just dont understand it.is it his mindset just to make sure it doesnt go in the net and nothing alse matters or does he think our defence is that good they will mop it up or it is it pur ignorance?
when my lad does that i bollock him and make sure he knows that he should be gathering or making sure he hits the fucke r so hard that it goes well of danger so the defence can sort it out again.

I wouldn't swop him for anyone either but by his own high standards, he's had a poor champions league. Question marks over him for every goal we've conceded apart from Napoli at home. He's probably the only member of the squad that doesn't have massive competition for his place. Can't help him be right on it at all times. He's not going to get dropped whatever happens and I'm not saying he should be but things are probably too comfortable for him, that's for sure.
