Not read all the posts on here, but I've read a fair few.....

Nobody on here has mentioned the wind, it seemed to me that balls towards that end were holding up, the particular one leading to the goal seemed to hang in the air for ages, with no forward momentum on the bounce. I reckon neither players allowed for the conditions, the defender went too deep then the ball bounced, and the keeper came out way too far anticipating wrongly that it would run on to him.

In football it is actually harder to defend with the wind(behind you) than against, when the wind is against you very often the ball over runs the attackers and goes out harmlessly, but when you are with the wind, the ball stalls in the air attackers can get on to crap punts up field as witnessed yesterday.

Still a massive cock up, I wasn't there, so can't tell what the conditions were like, but I was at a rugby match earlier in the day, and it varied between flat calm and GF6. Be interested to know what it was like in SW London just before 6pm?

Any way just adds to my theory that Mourinho isn't any tactical Genius, He's always been a long ball merchant - Fat Sam in a posh coat....

Villa was Kompany and Nastasic to be fair.

So if Pants goes into nets for the rest of the season he can cock-up to his hearts extent? Or just 3 years, when we'll then start this cycle over again?

My point is that those who want Joe gone won't surely put up with any more goalkeeping mistakes from whoever's in nets? 1 strike your gone from now on I'd imagine.
Hart has been given the benefit of the doubt from the majority of the fans for a while now pudge. He's certainly had more than one strike. Yesterday was a defining moment for me, he has lost all his confidence and it's affected his decision making in a negative way.
If Pants came in and made similar errors then we're in deep shit until January because I don't see Hart coming out of his dip anytime soon.
So does Pantilimon get a safety net of knowing he can make x amounts of mistakes until he gets told off on here?

If Pants came in say against Norwich and did what Joe did Sunday, would he get a pass because Joe did for so long or would we want to "stop the bleeding" so to speak straight away?
I don't know the answer to that mate. I'd like to think that whoever our number one is won't make basic mistakes on a regular basis.
Of course every keeper should be given a chance after an error, Joe certainly has been. I'm not overly keen on Pantillimon if I'm honest, he's another decent keeper who can do a job in the cup but I'd question if he is at the standard needed to be first choice for a title chasing club.
Whatever the answer is, I'm afraid for now it isn't Hart.

He's played 12 and kept 7 clean sheets, yet you bring up the only semi-mistake he has made (which didn't cost us the game). Try harder.
And Joe's kept over 70 clean sheets........

But you miss the point, you should try harder...

If people are saying Joe's had too many chances/should've been dropped donkey's ago then surely if Pants made a mistake he should be gone too?

Do we then go back to Joe or do we give Wrighty a chance to get back in the England squad?

Players should be picked on form. Joe Hart is well out of form so he should be dropped. Pants has never let us down so should be given a chance.
I'm all for Pants getting a shot in nets but IF he made a mistake, one that cost us the match, then what then?

Has the standard been set if Joe gets dropped? X amount of cock ups then you're dropped?

A 'keeper won't improve without game time, so decision making or lack of it on Joe's part won't be addressed so once he's dropped when if ever do we go back to him?

I mean, IF Pants got the job and started to under-perform at some point would there be calls to give Joe another chance?

Genuine question.

Yeah I know, I thought Nastasic had made the pass back because whoever posted the clip alluded to it. The back pass was the issue on that occasion.

No I didn't, nor did I blame anybody for it, I merely saw it on youtube and labelled it what it was, a "defensive mishap".

Sick of people spouting what they wanted others to say as fact to get them out of a hole or to look better to people who can't be arsed reading properly,

Valdes is leaving for free in the Summer! Big wages of course, but a keeper of his quality, out of contract, doesn't come along too often.

first multiple choice question for Victor on joining:

Victor, how will you deal with a cross into the box?

a) miss it whilst trying to catch it.
b) miss it whilst trying to punch it.
c) miss it whilst doing some weird fit of an attempt to get anywhere near it.
d) drop it whilst trying to catch it.
e) attempt to punch it, resulting in you fracturing the skull of the nearest player to you and in the process missing the ball.
It was the post directly after yours that I was replying to, although I did mention whoever posted it alluded to it being another Nastisic mistake.
That doesn't make me somebody who "spouts off" or tries to get myself out of a hole, or trying to make myself look better than somebody else.
I've probably said more on this subject tonight than I have any other since I joined up, the reason being its a fucking important one. Thinking I'd use it as a point scoring exercise is bollocks.

Well I didn't, so really the only bollocks is the bollocks you wrote claiming I said as such.

Read people's posts instead of insinuating they've said something they haven't so you can spout your opinion and make it look more valid to people who won't read every page or every post, when in fact you're making up what they've said to suit yourself.

You're on a forum, post properly you foul mouthed fiction writer.

Firstly I don't think Pantimillion will let us down as badly as some fear. He hasn't shown any sign of doing so in the games he has played. He also needs a fair crack at the whip and not be berated at the first error(s)
If he does let us down should Joe be given another chance?
I definitely think so. He would have hopefully had a (much needed) rest from the media spotlight by then.
It would give him the opportunity to redeem himself.
If he were to fail again it would probably be curtains for him at the club.
I think that's fair.
