I am waiting for ''Butch'' Wilkins view on the matter, he is on talkshite now with Brazil, up to now i think he is sitting on the fence, or is that sitting on Brazils face

It may have been discussed on here but am on phone with low battery so can't trawl through. Has Hart got a psychological coach? For me he has all the tools to do the job at hand but is buckling under the intense pressure. He I feel is thinking about his game too much instead of relying on his natural game where things are instinctive.

All top athletes use these guys in one way or another but footy seems to be in the dark ages (tough men bollox etc....) where they don't take on board psychological issues to do with football. If ever a player was crying out for it Joe is.

Every game he plays well in is ignored by the media and therefore 99% of fans and every game he drops a bollock he intensifies the pressure. On the whole it's poor decision making (Chelsea, Villa) it's not a case of Hart should get his head down and train harder, he should train smarter if anything. Any thoughts?

Hart has just lost a bit of confidence and form. These things happen. The trouble is when it happens once it gets in your head and can happen again. To me it is a no brainer, Pantilimon has to play now. He deserves his chance and Pellegrini will talk to Joe and say look we will work on these things in training for a few weeks and then I will give you another opportunity. The reason you have a number 2 is to come in when bad form or injuries take hold. Pantilimon has been very solid when called upon. Hart is normally a rock under pressure but he is clearly struggling. He needs some time on the training pitch, get confidence up, get over the pychological burden and come back the player we all know he is. For me he is over playing. Making bad decisions. He has played a sweeper role this season, which perhaps with the high defensive line Pellegrini has introduced has caused him some indecision. He came hairing out of goal away at Villa, CSKA and Chelsea and each time was beaten to the ball and left far too much goal exposed. When a keeper charges out it has to be to narrow the angle and reduce possibilities of getting the ball, or to snuff out and danger. This is often a fine line, and Joe has been on the wrong side of it repeatedly.

Maybe we should look at how Joe is being coached?
The keeper role seems to have changed under MP, with the emphasis on this being more of a sweeper role with us playing a higher line, pressing game leading to the opposition lumping the ball over our back two central defenders between them and the keeper (a tactic which seems to have been adopted by many of our opponents). Because of this the role of the keeper is now dependant on good decision making (when to come and when to stay) and confident distribution, I believe this is a problem for Joe as he now seems indecisive and lacking confidence, nobody would question his ability (apart from perhaps a weakness on his left side) and shot stopping capability, but his reading of the game in front of him is a big question mark
So back to my original point, how is this new aspect coached?

England goalkeeper Joe Hart has paid the price for a series of recent mistakes by being dropped by Manchester City for Saturday’s home game against Norwich City.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini broke the news to Hart directly in a face-to-face meeting on Friday, explaining that he thought it was time for a change in goal.

Romanian international Costel Pantilimon will deputise for the game against Norwich after keeping a clean sheet in midweek against Newcastle United in the Capital One Cup.’

Although disappointed by the decision, Hart appreciated Pellegrini for explaining man-to-man and he has a much better relationship with the Chilean than previous manager Roberto Mancini.

However Hart, 26. did not feel mentally affected by criticism for rushing out of his goal in the final minute at Chelsea last Sunday, which allowed Fernando Torres to score the winning goal after Hart’s mix-up with defender Nastasic.

Hart has been encouraged by City’s coaches this season to come and collect long balls as Pellegrini tries to play a higher defensive line
