joe hart

Joe Hart will be fine, he has an old head on young shoulders and is very sensible and level headed. As someone else said he just has to practice that kicking up field but he will be fine once the season starts.

I cannot comment on how he played yesterday because I haven't seen it but our defence is usually superb so let's see how it is going after the first few games eh?

Great thread and while we are at it lets drop every striker who misses a chance of a goal, every defender that misses a tackle and all the players that miss places a pass after all we only want perfect players in our team that never ever makes a mistake

It was a friendly ffs, the most important thing is that he didn't go diving in head first and hurt himself. The unwritten rule in pre-season is that you don't injure yourself. Plus as said before Hart had little chance with all the goals.

Joe Hart Golden glove Winner: 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13 with 18, 17 & 18 clean sheets respectively. You don't get that kind of record by being shite.

Pantillimon is a good keeper and I'm very surprised that we haven't had serious enquiries for him

Let's face it, he hasn't looked great pre season and i thought that even last season we should have given pantillimon a few more chances . I think joe is a fantastic keeper but would like pants to have given a few more games so it keeps joe on his toes . I guess joe just looks far better in training so is picked over pants pretty much everytime .

This is sensible. For me it's not about losing faith in England's number 1 but about how much belief I have in Romania's number 1.

before anyone accuses me of pressing the panic button , i think joe needs some time out of the limelight ? He is a great keeper , but all players lose form , i was amazed 3 arsenal players beat him on 1 on 1 situations , a couple of seasons ago joe would save 2 out of 3 , 1 on 1 situations , he apppears to rush out at players , where as previously he would anticipate forwards movements and take the ball off them , in fact i used to be surprised when players did beat joe when clean through on goal. Pantillimon has never let us down , and i think if joe got back to basics , he would come back the same keeper we relied upon when we won the league , and it would give pantillimon good experience at the same time.

I think you need some time out of the limelight. You are talking absolute rot. Also pray tell me, what expertise do you have in the goal keeping area.

ive watched the best in the land for over 50 years , and i include joe hart amongst them , trautmann , corrigan , schmeichel , seaman , james , coton were all top keepers for city . Joe Corrigan was a good example absolutley useless at first , but worked hard at his game and became an England international when he had some brilliant english keepers in competition like shilton, clemence etc . Perhaps the 800 and odd first team games ive attended at maine road and the etihad entitle me to an opinion on one of our players , or are you judging my football knowledge on a 130 posts ?

Some silly comments here.

Firstly, I can't see how anyone could level any blame at Hart for any of the Arsenal goals yesterday. They were all really good finishes.
Secondly, what evidence does anyone have that Hart believes any hype or that it has affected his attitude and work rate in training?

joe hart isnt the type of player who believes the hype , he is his own fiercest critic , if its his fault he stands up and accepts the criticism , but any player who has a drop in form no matter how good he is , should be given a break , i would say the same about vinny, silva, zabs no player should be guaranteed a place , no matter what his performance level. In 2012 Joe Hart was the best keeper in the world , he wasnt the best in the premiership last season ,give pantillimon a chance and lets see joe fight for his place in the team.

Stupid threads like this make you feel like smacking your head into a brick wall... repeatedly.

Joe Hart is England's Number 1 and the GK at the heart of the Prems best defence for a few seasons now. The only weakness in his game is kicking, which I put down to youth... 3 years time and he'll be regarded in top 3 in the world. He's a work in progress at the moment and I feel that at some point in the season or next Pantillimon will take the jersey for 3-4 games (not because of injury) but I expect Joe to do what he does best in anytime of adversity... come back stronger!

couldnt agree more , joe is englands number one , but that means fuck all to be honest , he has no competition , rooney is englands number nine and i wouldnt put shrek in the top ten strikers worldwide , If you think our players are beyond criticism then you need to take a reality check . Simple fact joes's standards have dropped , but i do believe he has the ability to be the best in the world , and sometimes a player has to take a step back to make progress , Because someone has a different opinion to you , doesnt make them stupid , Maybe you can put a constructive reply proving that he has improved over the last 12 months , if you cant , then my opinion is a valid one.
totally agree, hart has not been very good for a long while,he was poor last season , cant remember a game where he won it for us with his saves. What baffles me is why so many think he`s so good.

9 posts or 9 thousand posts, we are all entitled to an opinion........................are we not?

Very true , if we all had the same opinion ,we would be like the swamp dwellers , with no ability to construct an intelligent retort .

We have the best keeper in the world alongside Neuer and there is doubts

I just despair somtimes

The bloke is a quality keeper and better than our No2. His appearances on the Head and Shoulders adverts are fucking awful though....,

He won the golden glove because of the players in front of him..

He needs a reality check, the two one on ones yesterday were dreadful, far too slow to come off his line..

Joe is a world class keeper and probably the best in the Premier League. Why would you drop him because he had 3 goals scored against him in a meaningless friendly, I for one am glad he didnt take it to seriously and end up sent off or even worse injuring himself. The time to judge starts on monday night and I think we will see a more focused and committed City.

He will need to improve in all areas if our defence plays a higher line

No doubt about it, Hart's a very good keeper for his relatively young age. But c'mon mate, he's not the best in the world. Not even best in the PL. Cech is better, and the three years younger De Gea will possibly be the better keeper of them two in a couple of years time.

I wouldn't want to see him play for any other club than ours, but he has a lot to learn and I hope his new coach(es) will move him in the right direction.
