John Guidetti: 20 goals and 6 assists in 23 for Feyenoord

Regardless of his feat. in in the dutch league, he still doesn't have the authority to demand anything. He has to learn to be patient with his progress.

I don't think he meant it as a demand although as a fan i did think "hold on fella only Kun, Vince and Joe are guaranteed starters".
It comes across a bit as "i won't sit on the bench" and i don't like that much.

I personally believe it was said in a different context. That would be along the lines of "i feel i have done all that has been asked of me and feel i deserve my chance to play, i don't expect to start every match but i do not want to warm the bench all the time either."

If that's the case i can understand that.

I wouldn't be surprised if that were so.

If he comes back to City, he better be prepared to be long down in the ranks no matter what happens in summer transfer window.

There's no chance he should expect to be anything but most probably 4th striker and to fight his way from that position.

It's not first time he is sending messages like this, he did it some 2 months ago and it's too early for him to sound arrogant like that even if he doesn't mean to be arrogant.

Could you imagine Cleverley saying this while on loan at Wigan last year?

Sounds like the same rehashed quotes to me. Could be wrong, though.

Might be but tbh even once is too much. He has to show some respect - players of his age are usually talking about fight, giving all to impress manager and earn his place, bla, bla.. that's how he should do it too but I honestly think he believes he doesn't have the future in City and want to provoke a move somewhere.

I'm not sure he does have the future though, not at this phase, it's obviously too early for youngsters at City. Success is expected soon and Mancini is not ready to risk his job gambling with youngsters. Nobody would on his place though.

Honestly, I think he meant more like he was to be given a chance to play regularly with the big boys, not sent back out on loan.

When he said he wants to be treated like everyone else I don't think he was saying he won't sit on the bench, I think he just meant he only wants to be in our squad if he's there as a different option to Aguero, Balotelli and Dzeko. He doesn't want to just be the kid in the squad that gets early round cup games and the odd 20 minutes when games are already won. Which is fair enough.

John Guidetti is not playing today because he is ill. This is not the first time he has to miss a game because of sickness.

Hopefully he will be able to participate next week in a crucial game against AZ Alkmaar at home.
