John Guidetti looks set to sign a new deal with Manchester City after travelling on their US tour.
Guidetti's previous contract with the Blues expired at the end of the season and he was on the verge of joining Dutch side FC Twente.
However, the 19-year-old striker has had a change of heart and is on the brink of accepting a new offer from City.
"It is very close, there's just the matter of a few details remaining," his agent Per Jonsson told the TT news agency.
"Their manager, Roberto Mancini, really wants to keep him and John wants to stay and play for the club."
Jonsson claimed the Premier League outfit are now the only option for Guidetti as although Leicester have admitted interest, they have ruled out making a move for the Sweden

Good news. Wonder if he'll get a few more run outs this year or whether he'll go out on loan? He was one of the few at WBA in the carling cup that came away with any sort of credibility, it was a shame we were knocked out at the first hurdle as he might have got some more chances.

Make or break then for John this season,lets hope he earns and subsequently gets the opportunity to prove his worth.
I can't help thinking,after signing a new deal,a loan to a Wigan/Bolton/Blackburn type club may be more beneficial though.Similar moves havn't done Sturridge and Wellbeck any harm....

We're really short on strikers, especially if Tevez goes. We'll clearly be signing a big name to replace him but I see no reason why Guidetti can't fulfill the 4th striker role, he'd probably be a lot less hassle than an Adebayor or Bellamy, and a lot less shit than Jo or RSC!
