So calm.
Big Sam should play him as a DM for England where his passing abilities will actually be used.

So impressed with him. I knew he could be great, but after a very indifferent season, I wasn't sure what we'd see initially. But, he is the absolute "dog's!"

The way he brings the ball out of defence - honestly - he's almost as good as Baresi - or even Rio Ferdinand!

(Course I'm fuckin' joking! How could he ever be as good as camelgob.)

Hi Evertonian here. Have waited a week or two to sign up and post about Stones. First thing to say as many of you are now realising Stones is an absolute Rolls Royce of a player and whilst prone to the odd error has been a pleasure to watch, the reason I go to footy is to enjoy the talents of players like this. Biggest compliment I can give him is he is the nearest thing to Alan Hansen since.... well Alan Hansen! I know relations between Everton and City have been strained over the years but I wish him ( and yourselves)well and will hope he turns into the player he should, yours and England's captain. Like Rooney for 30 mill in 10-12 years time the money you have spent on him will look an absolute bargain - we just need to spend it well! He will make mistakes ( like all players) but his talent and style of play is worth it. Good luck for the title, as it is defo between you and the rags - and there's only one winner there for me and most fans. Enjoy the lad - one day hopefully we will live the dream that you all are- I can imagine that you can still hardly believe your luck of the last 5-6 years after the horrors of the 80's and 90's and 00's

Thanks for that, and welcome to the forum. I always liked Everton and not sure why our wider fanbases seem to dislike each other so much!

Cheers - similar attitude to myself. Can understand us hating the reds of both cities but not each other, think Lescott saga soured things on our part- but we got a good deal and he won things so can't blame him. As said before don't begrudge you lot any success tbh if it makes United fans pipe down then it can only be good for football!! Back to Stones he was a joy to watch, stayed professional after the Chelsea interest and will be an outstanding signing. Personally think he would also be excellent in defensive midfield but if he defends stronger than he did last year ( thinking of the semi at you place last season!) then he is a quality CB.

I think Everton will have a good season under Koeman. Lukaku seems happy despite some big bids and that bodes well. I don't think he's improved much since he came, but he might do now under Koeman.

this fella is going to captain us to become the best team in the land and all the world.

not that we weren't already, of course.

Yet to be given a real test defensively and that was most peoples concerns but he can only play against what's on the field. Not put a foot wrong yet and looks like he's been at City for years, he's going to be here for a very long time.

Just got in from the game but did anyone else see Pep call him over to the touch line when we had a corner in the first half and then go absolutely mental at him for about 30 seconds, then when he was subbed Pep have another long talk with him but he wasn't as animated

That's the way Pep teaches. There's a video somewhere of Pep pulling aside a Bayern player right after the game and having the same kind of animated discussion.

Joshua Kimmich. He just had a MOTM performance against Dortmund and in between full time and extra time Pep gave him a massive lecture. He's not angry with them or bollocking them, he's just coaching.

Pep mentioned in the PC that he was telling Stones, why the hell Stones, Fernando & Kolarov were playing last line against their ONE striker. Why none of the three broke lines? Hope Stones understood :)

Yeah, it looks serious but just seems to be Pep's way. Nobody could accuse him of complacency.

Agree with everyone about Stones. No real pressure yet but great start and looks custom-made for us.

Saw that too, just the teacher teaching. He is going to learn and learn fast, can seriously see him end up as our captain in 5 years.
