Sounds like you're just want it to be a failure so you can moan about Southgate.

After England's the performance against Scotland now isn't the time to experiment and our players aren't the nation's favourite ones. Dier in midfield has worked to some degree but again it hasn't been that convincing of experiments. Both are very good ball playing CB's, not specialist defensive midfielders imo.

A completely meaningless friendly at the end of the season where France have already said they're playing an experimental side. This is exactly the right time to experiment.

Not after the performance against Scotland, not against France (even if it is a friendly) and especially with our national players not being favourites with the rest. England need a clear pattern before start experimenting with different ideas.

You came to that conclusion based on the 1 game Kompany and Stones started together in a back 4 did you?

No, I came to that conclusion having seem them on numerous appearances, such as a horror show against Southampton at home, a struggling performance against Swansea away and the fact that Otamendi and Vinny looks an unbelievably strong partnership.

We haven't had the opportunity to see Kompany and Stones as a partnership though mate to gauge whether that would be strong or not.

So from the 3 games they played together, 2 in 3 at the back where in 1 Kompany was playing for the first time in 6 months, in the other he went off injured and 1 perfromance in a back 4 away to the champions are the sample size you used to decide Stones-Kompany can't work as a partnership.

Genius.

Tbf he didn't say it won't work, he said Otamendi and Komps look more solid.

Or did he say that beforehand?

And yet with Vincent and Otamendi we looked far more solid. You've used no sample size to throw a wild claim and have nothing to back it up with.

Genius.
