I've no sample size either - just an impression.And yet with Vincent and Otamendi we looked far more solid. You've used no sample size to throw a wild claim and have nothing to back it up with.
Genius.
Otter's biggest problem is that he's hyper aggressive - diving into tackles, making unnecessary challenges upfield.
Stone's biggest problem is consistency - playing a good/great game - and then makes a huge, huge blunder - no look pass straight to the opposition or some sort of miss-hit pass - again straight to the opponents. These gaffs are very severe - most often leading to an immediate scoring opportunity for our opponents. And the worst thing is that Stones seems to make these daft plays once per game - maybe gifting our opponents between 1/2 to 1/8 goals every time he starts.
=====================
Under Kompany, Otters has settled down - not making daft challenges - perhaps because he trusts Kompany.
Under Kompany, Stones.... we'll I actually have no idea. But those bonehead, moments - are maybe not at all due to whom Stones is paired with - maybe it's just something currently intrinsic to Stone's game - e.g., keeping total focus and concentration throughout the full 90.
====================
This I do know - Pep has seen both Otters and Stones over a long period of time both in practice and in match games. If Stones isn't preferred over Otters when Kompany is fit.... then there's a good reason for this - Pep rates Otters over Stones.
