I might be the first blue to say it, but I feel for Stones' City Career. I don't think he is good enough defensively. Needs to seriously improve if he stands a chance of holding down a place for City.

You don't need two dominating CB's, if he is paired with Vinny, he is a valuable asset to the team. He is really calm on the ball and that is huge asset when we are being pressed. But I'm inclined to agree, he needs massive work on his defensive game. At this point, he is miles away from where a City CB should be defensively. I like to describe him as someone who is a clueless defensively as Mangala was on the ball. Imagine someone with Mangala's physicality and Stones composure, sad that Barca bought him last year.

You need to actually watch games. He constantly dives in, and makes horrendous mistakes. That doesn't mean we don't rate him, we just don't believe he's immune from criticism. He's got a lot to learn to be an elite CB.

Just leave him alone, he's spent the last year defending every mistake Stones has made. He has got a irrational love for him. He has potential but right now he is miles away from our standard.
