I definitely don’t agree that he won’t be a consistent performer for us. His run at the beginning of last season is testament to his ability to perform at a top level when given a run and in the right headspace/fitness.

Why compare him to the best defender we have had in the last 10yrs and who is much older?

Compared to Vinny at the same age, not a lot in it tbh. Vinnie's peak was the 10/11 season, the season that Stones is heading into now, let's see.

i find that a bit of an odd comparison. at the same age i wouldnt say Kompany was miles better. its not loyalty either, hes shown he good he came be. we are building a 'dynasty with him in our squad right now.

Kompany was Premier League Player of the Season in the season he turned 26, as well as being in the team of the year. He was absolutely miles ahead of where Stones is now.

When in form he is an ideal centre half for us.

Hopefully the club have been working with him to get him in a positive frame of mind for the start of the season - we will need him if we are going to compete on all fronts.

John Stones is a Fantastic Football player,and definitely good enough to play for the Champions of England.
