Excellent forum etiquette Dax777 ;-)To avoid Fantasyireland's warnings. Let me bring it back to Stones.

Is Thomas Mueller a CM?So if Pep wants someone comfortable with the ball at his feet in nets, I can say we're covered because we have Silva?
Because Nasri is not a CM, while Delph and Fernando are dross. People seem to be settling, which has been our problem all too often transfer wise.
We used to be "covered" when Milner could play there.
Yes, ignore the point you initially argued. Well done.
We're signing Stones despite having equal to talent and bodies at that position than CM, a position we're apparently "covered" in.
A CM is needed.
Is Delph, Nasri and/or Fernando as talented as Muller? Is Thomas Mueller a CM?
Your reply addressed two lines worth of an entire post. You ignored the majority of it just so you could hurl personal abuse at me.I'm sorry where did I ignore the point I initially argued? My point was, and is, that no Central midfielders have been linked to us with any relibaility except Kroos, which has always been seen as an opportunistic buy, and Guardiola would not allow a 50/50 transfer to be the difference between a midfield not up to standard, and one that's ok.
And in 2016, no transfer we ever do is not preceded by a month of solid links and reports and ITK info saying we're getting them, and as that hasn't happened yet, we're unlikely to be in the market for a midfielder right now.

Put him on the list as a possible candidate for newbie Mod. ;)Excellent forum etiquette Dax777 ;-)
We are linked with CMs though :)Because the rest of your post was completely irrelevant. It doesn't matter if you think we're covered or not, or if the midfield is a covered as CB. It's got absolutely nothing to do with us being linked to other midfielders.
My point, that we'd be linked to someone by now if we were going for a CM, has nothing to do with you thinking our defence has more depth than midfield, so yeah, I ignored an irrelevant comment.
I'm having a hard time keeping this Stones related. Level of talent is irrelevant. Stones is not as good a defender as any we have. He is a better footballer though. That's why he is needed to bring what we lack in defense. Your Silva/Hart example is a red herring. Silva plays in midfield. Hart doesn't. Pep will often play 3 Central players. For the lack of a better word, I'll call those 3 CMs. I.e at Barca it was often Busquet, Iniesta, Xavi. At Bayern, Alonzo, Mueller, Thiago. (Now, don't go anal on the names they are examples). At City this 3 positions will be filled by one of the 8 ( Nando, Delph, Dihno, Gundogan, Silva, Yaya, DeBryune, Nasri). Nasri, Silva, Gundogan, DeBryune and Yaya fit the Xavi, Iniesta, Mueller, Thiago mold. While Delph, Nando Dihno, fit the Busquet,Vidal, Alonzo mold. So when I say CM, again I am thinking of Pep's history and not your static notion of what a CM is or should be. Hence why we are covered. Is Delph, Nasri and/or Fernando as talented as Muller?
Pep said it himself, he doesn't transform players alone.
Did you not say we were covered attacking wise before the summer?..I'm having a hard time keeping this Stones related. Level of talent is irrelevant. Stones is not as good a defender as any we have. But at CB we have no Pique, Boateng. That is what Stones is.
Dude I get more warnings than anyone here for derailing threads. Trying to be better. Like Stones foitskills :)Put him on the list as a possible candidate for newbie Mod. ;)

This has to be a joke right? I said we were covered at Striker. Nacho could backup Aguero just fine. If preseason is any indication. I think Pep is in agreement. I was one of the fee if not the only one who argued we needed 2 new wingers and that was our greatest weakness once Gundogan was done. We have now signed 2 and on the verge of signing a 3rd. It seems again, Pep was in agreement.Did you not say we were covered attacking wise before the summer?..
Yet we've signed Nolito, are signing Sane and this Jesus kid.
So we were covered in your opinion but not Pep's, so were you looking at our options there statically or was it Pep?
You're dropping players into different positions by looking at it on paper. The talent we have at our current disposal is nowhere near Barca or Bayern so a simple "x can do y's job" doesn't translate.
I remember a distinct conversation about at least a goal scoring wideman a la Aubameyang, although that could have been in agreement to be fair. This has to be a joke right? But then again, none of that was mind blowing: When your only true wingers were Sterling and Navas, this should have been obvious to anyone. That I guy who stacks wingerson his squad will want more.
Excellent post.
Edit: I like Stone's running man challenge dance so I think he's worth £50m if Pep does.
I also don't think I've ever read a post where Pudge seemed happy. Which saddens me. It doesn't look to be an enjoyable experience, being a City fan, for him.
