John Stones

From what I've seen on my side, there is definite interest from both parties (City and Stones). We already knew that. But that's as far as it goes. The Euros have got in the way of any transfer and nothing will happen until they're done.

Strange, as I was very sure we were going to keep Stones and move Lukaku on, but it seems Koeman has decided to put his foot down over Lukaku. He obviously thinks he would be of more use (and as a 25+ goal a season striker, I can see why) and Stone's sale will be used to battle FFP so that money can be poured in for some big name signings.

Koeman will have the last word on the matter and if he wants Stones to stay, he will. However, it appears he's willing to sacrifice him for overall improvement. Will be interesting to see how this works out.
Probably the same way as an earlier saga involving a central defender from Everton to City. The affair may not be sorted until the end of August and only if city break the bank!!

He's not coming, his uncle teaches my lad. Spoke to him just before euro's and said wants to stay at Everton. That's not to say he will, just passing on what my lad was told.

Is he any good? My eyes tell me he's nothing exceptional but that's not very popular around here. Shhhh!

Can't see that happening. Money is no issue for us now, it'll take a substantial amount to sign him purely so we can negotiate FFP and the deal will have to be done early because Koeman has a plan for this summer and isn't going to let late deals for players leaving jeopardise that. Either he goes soon after the Euros or I can't see him going at all.

If it was between keeping him and Lukaku, I would keep him.

That's how good he is. Three games away from Martinez and he was back living up to the unprecedented hype put on him by the media, putthing in his best ever performance for England, doing what he does best: distributing from the back. England have missed him so much; Cahill is no better defensively and isn't anywhere near as accomplished with the ball, and this is why England haven't scored. Hodgson is a dinosaur and the sooner he gets sacked the better for England. Stones will come in and England will realise what they've been missing.

The media have built him up and chopped him down brutally. Alli has been utterly abysmal (based on his performances no sane person would purchase him for five pounds, let alone the five million Spurs spent) and Dier scored a dreadful own-goal in that friendly, but neither received any hate from the media at all in comparison to Stones. It attracts reads, so they'll do it.

Nice one EFCBlue. Thanks. Now I just have to try to figure out if you're trying to deceive us. ;-)
