John Stones

That's not the way things are done these days. Clubs contact the agents and find out if the player wants to come and what his wage demands would be. If both parties agree then the buying club makes an offer. It would be utterly stupid to enter negotiations with a club if they didn't know the player wanted to move. City have been in contact with Stones and he wants to come.

Bold is true. The rest is incorrect.
Surely if the bolded part is true then that makes the rest by default true?

How come Everton don't have to worry about money anymore, yet we, who are considerably better off, do?
Or is the evertonian getting all muddled up?

I'm happy that Everton have finally got investment and I hope they make a good show of it and eventually make the top 4. Another north west club in the upper echelons of the Prem is good for the nw imo. As long as it's not Liverpool. It would be funny as fuck if the City, Chelsea and Everton get regular top 4 finishes at the expense of their horrible red rivals. Stick Leicester in there too and we could have an all blue top 4.
I do however think it will be harder for Everton than some of their fans think. A new stadium should be top priority. With a new ground and regular European football, I think Liverpool will start to worry.

A good post pal given some previous Evertonian posters on here, however I am struggling with the concept that money is no object, but FFP is the main consideration?

Money is of no issue to Everton anymore, transfers are purely to dodge the slalom that is FFP. All this I know to be an absolute fact.

Now this you will need to expand on and explain because it's one of the most contradictory things I've ever read on here.

Perhaps I'm not being clear enough.

Everton do not need to "sell to buy" anymore in the sense that they lack funds. There is no lack of funds at all. Every player we wish to buy, we can afford to buy, without sales. The issue lies in FFP. I can understand where the confusion was coming from with regards to my posts.

Surely if the bolded part is true then that makes the rest by default true?

No.

City said "want to join?"

Stones said "yes please".

That is literally it.

Cheers for the kind words.

Actually, most people (like yourself) are pessimistic at our chances of reaching the top four.

The new board members have ruthless intent. Everton reaching fourth, or higher, in the next three years, is much more likely than you think. It'll become clearer after this transfer window.

This reminds me of our german poster who swore right up to the last minute that pep would never leave bayern for us,denial i think it is called

Cheers for the kind words.

I don't believe I've been wrong with anything I've said and I've been saying stuff for a couple of years here now. I'm not denying Stones wants to go.
