Reports it could be done by the end of the week. Bitter little dwarf Mike Parry not very happy, calling us a small club before the takeover and the oil is gonna dry up etc etc...in other words typical Evertonian reaction.Still some way to go on this deal? The fee for Stones is not agreed according to newspaper reports that seem quite informed.
Everton value him at £50m, with City believing a deal can be done around £45m is my summary.
Completely agree. I was buzzing at all those signings even though I'd never heard of half of them! Like you say, it was such a contrast to the painfully dull Pearce era, the only period when my interest as a blue had significantly waned.Think the multiple signings of Petrov, Elano, Garrido, Corluka and Bojinov was one of the most exciting days as a Blue, after the dour fare served up in the Pearce era.
The same story is also in the sporting life and Liverpool Echo are they out with city. The point is once a story is published wherever that may be then other media outlets can say "sources" and then repeat the story sky do it all the time. So just because it is in the media does not make it true. If it were every team every transfer window would be buying 40 new players a season
We are "close" and because both would like to focus on other targets might want to push this one through now, espcicially since they aren't budging. The Saturday date I mentioned before is right before the Arsenal game and a week before the season.I highly doubt anything is going to be done before the end of the week. Both clubs busy with other targets and, although I'm sure this is going to happen this transfer window, neither club are eager to budge on price right now.
Apparently he's part of the the squad traveling to Dresden, we'll also be heading to Scandinavia.
I reckon this will be sorted AFTER the start of the Premier League season.
If Everton have given up trying to hold on to him this will be done and dusted within the next few days. They need to get a replacement in fast. Doubt very much if we will see Stones play a competitive match for Everton again. How will he get on at City? Personally I think he will be a big success but then again !!!I highly doubt anything is going to be done before the end of the week. If we were serious about signing more than the one of Laporte/Stones/Bonucci I do hope that extra money by only signing one of the three if not spent elsewhere is put towards a new fullback or another central midfielder, I can dream cant I?
