John Stones

I think he is right to sit and let the clubs sort this out.
If I want want something, I asked and do what is necessary just as Fernandinho did when he wanted to come here. Like I said, imo I think Stones could be doing more to facilitate this move and handing in an official transfer request therefore foregoing any loyalty bonuses to prove his commitment to the move would be a start......

How much does he want this move? Over to you Johnny boy.

Maybe Citys position has changed over this pre-season. Maybe Pep has had a look at who he has at his disposal and maybe he is more relaxed about the situation now that he has seen Tosin and maybe Vinne is nearer to full fitness and he hasnt met EM yet

It may have been that at the start of the transfer window City felt this and full back were positions that needed strengthening but now that he has seen in the flesh what he has to work with he is more relaxed and so this take it or leave it position is one that he and the club are happy with..just a thought

I've already made these points before but again:

1) I think the record fee paid for an English player was £45m for Sterling. The world record fee for a defender is £50m for Luiz. £40m is a massive fee. It's hardly a case of getting him on the cheap. And a few months ago, Everton fans came on here telling us about Moshiri's Billions and how it was a new start for EFC etc. What is the point of holding out for even more money when you are wealthy? False economy leaving it to the end when you have to replace the player.

2) Kenwright has managed to ratchet the fee up to £40 million. Well done. The rest of football would think it ridiculous if City paid that let alone £50m. To say you're not going to discuss anything less than £50m is seriously disrespectful to the player and would put the relationship between club and player at risk.

I don't think Everton had any intention of finding the best deal for Stones which really they have an obligation to do when the player says they want to leave.

Well 1) the Everton fans that came on telling us about their money were full of shit. 2) we don't actually know what the situation is, only what the media say it is. Everton may be negotiating the add ons right now & just doing a bit of haggling before eventually coming to an agreement.

he did give an official transfer request last summer too when Chelsea were after him, but Everton stood firm
I'm not so sure. I read the Sky article, but from what I recall he did then as he's done this summer which is told his bosses he wanted to leave, but he didn't hand in an official written transfer request then and hasn't done so this time around either.

Surely common sense should tell the lad that if his tactic of sitting on the sidelines didn't work last summer, doing the same thing again this summer is likely to bring about the same result. He needs to stick his head above the parapet and get this transfer motoring for everyone's sake. The way this is going, it could get to the point where Everton couldn't sell anyway as they won't have time to get a suitable replacement before the window shuts.

The way I see it is that they have a commodity that someone wants to buy and they dont need to sell. IMO, Everton can ask what they want, whether anyone pays their valuation is a different

So it's ok when a player does this in our favour but when Tevez wanted to leave us he was called a ****. Imagine if Aguero just stopped training with us to force a move away. It's a dirty unproffesional trick.

What makes you think any of those players would want to go? They have contracts with us and cannot be forced against their wishes
I would have thought Delph at his age would have his eye on the next world cup and will only get into the England team by playing regularly - but as I said, rare to see swap deals these days.We can only hope, we will have 2 or 3 players who will not be in the squad under player registration rules.

Said this all along not a thought. It's actually listen to what Pep has been saying. Tbh l think City is dragging on the transfer to give Pep a few days with Mangala. But it's not what people wanna hear on here.
