Not being funny, but what are these attributes
The ability to read a game, to pick out passes quickly into the midfielders.

Fair point about Rio there matey. It'll never get mentioned in the press though. £30m with 14 years of inflation...£50m for and English lad of 23 don't seem to bad to me.
I would say this about Stones
Not knocking you as I rate you as a poster, but the above is wishful imho.
Stones will be dynamite, said like a wishful prophecy. I like Stones passing, I like his confidence and I like his composure. But he is so unproven its untrue, he is coming off the back of a bad season and didnt even push his way into the starting eleven for a piss poor England defence, yet costs 50m. Walk away!!!
Heard different stories, but we all now how this is going to end and frankly, for Everton, the best thing to do is to solve the problem asap.
I would argue that Stones had a buffoon in charge last season who hindered his development. Everton were a shambles at times, with little or no balance to their team.
If Stones was here, our team would be setup much better, combined with players in better positions to receive the ball when we win it back.
And that's it. You said all the attributes he needs. Doesn't defending feature in that list of attributes? The ability to read a game, to pick out passes quickly into the midfielders.
Looks that way.It not a certainty. He could very well stay at Everton.
IMO (now this really is just my opinion, not something I've heard) it will go to deadline day knowing Everton.
And risk having an unhappy player for another 12 months who's already told them that he wants to progress (which means leaving Everton). That'll be 2 seasons where your board have screwed up over Stones, I think we'll hold at the £40 million mark and make them sweat. It not a certainty. He could very well stay at Everton.
