My point was and is the people above the manager ( txixi ) have a 5 year plan and players they have in mind. They have 2 or 3 in every position and look at the youngsters as well. The manager / coach is consulted as to THEIR targets as to whether he can work with him etc.

Coaches such as pep rarely instigate a lead, that's what the scouting network is being payed for

I'm sorry but the thought that pep managing Bayern gave a list to txixi is wrong. He may have agreed Kdb was a good buy, but to sit in Bayern pulling the strings is wrong
We'll have to agree to disagree on this occasion bud, but we'll leave it there.......as you say "peace out"

If you got he's separating himself from the recruitment process from that then it's good night Vienna!!

Hi mate, reading between the lines of those comments I got, "final decision" isnt his.....He might give an idea on the type of player he wants and maybe even a list/pool of players but still think Txiki has final say whether the value/need of that player is worth it from a financial standpoint and believe it would be txiki's decision to walk away from a transfer if the figures didnt fit! maybe separating himself from the recruitment process is not the right way to put it as I know he's made calls to help recruit players but dont believe the final say is Pep's....I dont know the inner workings of the club so its just opinion. The lack of a CB this summer for example, wouldnt be down to Pep....I believe Pep will have an opinion/input on the pool of players Txiki wants but the final say is all down to Txiki....I understand you might know alittle more than I do, so happy to listen if you think differently mate!;)

And that question is about the market so I think you should [address it to] the right person," Guardiola said.

"I know how it works in England, the manager [decides on transfers]. But I'm a trainer, at the club I'm just a trainer. And I give my opinion, my advice to the club, and after that the club decides the best as possible.

If I read it correctly, you were suggesring 4 names who might not feature being in Peps plans. As soon as someone challenges it your immediate response is "I agree mate". Your back to changing like the weather

Here we go!

Quote 1:

Interesting mate! ;) could we be seeing the 4 names that are not in Pep's plans? (Mangala, Otamendi, Nasri and Bony as surplus.)

Quote 2:

I agree mate...someone mentioned Ota went back to Spain a few days ago for a medical appointment, so think he must be carrying an injury! If Ota is not going to be fit for the start of the season, even more reason to include Mangala....unless he not in Pep's plans?

reading both quotes very carefully I'm asking a question in the first (no opinion given at all) and in the 2nd quote I'm saying if Ota is injured, even more reason to include a healthy Mangala if he not one of the 4 names I was asking about.....So how have I changed any view and how was my original question questioned or challenged?

think you wrong again mate....just ask me to clarify on something if I need to make it clearer instead of automatically putting a comment down or trying to put words into someones mouth!

EDIT: And please stop trying to be clever posting things like this to other posters...its clear you having a dig and its seems very childish and I try to show you more respect than that!

He,ll respond in a minute zin with "I agree mate..."

So the higher ups have a 3-5 year plan.

And they consult the manager.

So surely then they must have consulted the manager who was actually going to be managing those 3-5 years, not the guy who was being shown the door in 9 months time

You have the best manager in the world I'm pretty sure you ask him who do you fancy and give us a list of who you want! He gives the list and thats it cheeky gets on and does his job! Well thats how I presume it works.
