I know we're desperate for a CB but is stones the answer? He was shit at defending last season. And for all his talent on the ball he still gives it away a lot.
Fair enough, but if we've got players shit on the ball trying to play out from the back... In the Dortmund/Arsenal games alone 5-6 absolute clear cut chances were given away because of our lack of ability on the ball in defensive areas (+ keeper).

It's fairly obvious we're going to stick to Pep's style of playing out from the back, doesn't matter if we have 2 worldy defenders there, you pass the ball straight to a striker & he's one on one with the keeper then you're in trouble. Under Pep we simply need ball playing CB's as he's very unlikely to change his style, I'd rather the odd mistake from Stones than 2-3 golden chances gifted a game by a few more solid defenders.

Don't think he's the best defender in the world but it's blindingly obvious why we want him to me, would be surprised if we didn't make sure this happens.

That will give ua a cb who is confident with the ball at his feet. A lot of issues that I saw tonight were not necessarily to do with ball control . Yes, we need him, but alone, he will not be a panacea IMO
too sensible for this thread ...............

Cool...... Who told you 3 years ago unequivocally that he was coming to our great club.......? Pep the messiah was coming to little old city? Sorry shorts to be short with you, but I am sick of questions and shite on here. I called it and everyone said I was talking shite. Leave me alone and talk it on the main form pal

If you get an in at city and a proper insight into the inner workings then I would love to hear from you pal, pm me that would be fine
Keep posting @salfordpaul its info like yours that keeps the forum going and interesting. Most people have a go because they don't have that insight as to what is going on.

Watching us tonight further proved why we need Stones, the lack of composure on the ball at times was horrific. Stones provides a calming influence, and Pep will make him top class. It's evident that Pep doesn't rate Denayer, so maybe we can get that £10m from Arsenal for him.

As Arsenal lost a CB to injury tonight, maybe we could get a good price for Mangala?

FFS, just give them the extra £10million.

Then get rid of Kolorav, Nasri, Bony, and some others.

There's a week to go until the kick off.

We haven't got time to piss about anymore.

Just posted a twitter comment on "twitter rumours thread" from "Quarry Green FC" The club just put on twitter that Stones had a medical with City today? Guess it could be rubbish but make of it what you will...anyone confirm if this is possible?

They are based in Merseyside, so I guess anything possible..

Last night proved yet again we are in need of CBs. Do not see stones as the answer though. Hope I am wrong. He would work well in a back 3. Last nights game left more questions than answers regarding defensive options.

With Mangala, Otamendi left out, Denayer not playing and the failure to secure Laporte I'm sure we'll get 2 CB. Tosin as back up.
