totally agree with the holding back english football for decades.
back in the 70s and 80s at sunday morning level, if a full back or centre half could "knock it long" over 40 yards from defence they used to get a well done or "good knock"..kicking it down the line if you were full back was a skill,or knocking it infield, and long and high to the centre forward(every team had a 6ft centre forward) was also looked upon as a clever ball.
Kick and rush football,for the younger fans,was boot it long and chase it like some medieval pass-time.
 
Watching the new Inside City of Stones's first day makes me like him even more. So down-to-earth and humble. He's destined to be a fan favourite. Anyone who hasn't seen it, I'd recommend checking it out on the YouTube channel. If you're unsure about his personality this video will probably change your mind.
