Or maybe he thinks Chelsea are an ageing team and the owner has lost interest. He also may think they are not investing in the team like they were 4 years ago....

The thing that some City fans don't recognise is that the spending won't be at the same level it is now in a few years as the squad may only need slight improvements alas Chelsea's current level of expenditure. You won't be spending £100 Million every summer and if you do your team will never be settled and will struggle to win.

Chelsea still have some major players coming this season and when we have a couple more young, attacking players, that will be all we need. Next season may be different as older players will need to be replaced.

Also Chelsea have a very promising future with a commited owner, much like City. Terry isn't on a sinking ship.

If the side needs little tinkering and little improvement why the still need major players coming bit fulham?

Sounds oxymoron to all and sundry?

Not often that I agree with you but on this one I do. What we as City fans are seeing in this Transfer Window will probalby never be repeated again. In the future we will have a settled team, and those players will no doubt be quality but in future transfer windows we will only have to tweak the squad bringing in one or two players over a six month period until the next window where again no major reshakes to the squad would take place.

i don't think we will get Terry, I suspect he's playing both clubs against each other which in fairness to him personally is acceptable. To the clubs and their fans then it's a piss take, but that's life.

Not Really. All big clubs will need to make the odd "major" purchase here and there - especially when we have players like Drogba, Anelka, Lampard & Ballack all getting on a bit.

But we shouldn't see the huge spending like we saw when Abramovic first came in. That was just so we could "catch up" squad wise with the likes of Utd and Arsenal at that time.

I guess its poetic license to use the word some and mean "odd" (LOL).

state the obvious, coarse we wont be spending £100 million each summer, we wont need to, like yourselves when city finally get a winning side there is only need for tweaking, but where as your lot seem to now bulk at the real big targets i have every confidence our owners would still pay what is needed to land that missing piece, we'll let you do the deals for the belleti's and pizzaros of this world, whilst we'll look ever so slightly higher, if you dont mind!

Actually a very sensible discussion happening here (miracle huzzah!).
I'd agree completely, I think next season we'll spend about 50-75% of what we'll spend this season. After that we'll probably only buy 1-2 massively expensive player(s) and fill up the academy with youngsters from all over the globe.
